Vilma is a MLB. He doesn't play as well out of position and he doesn't want to play OLB. Why for the Love of God do you people keep insisting on making him an OLBer???

+ A bazillion

I, for one, don't mind Laurinitis playing WLB for the Saints. I absolutely believe that it will be easier making a college player change positions because he can be taught. I wouldn't want to make a Pro Bowl MLB change positions. I'm sure someone will site somewhere where it has been done, but I think teaching a college kid to move makes more sense. However, with all that being said, no way in hell does Payton pick JL at 14.

He can't shed blocks/isn't physical enough to play in the middle. I think he may be a solid WLB in the NFL, but I don't think he's worth the 14th pick.

I agree here. He's a bit slow, a bit small and not rangey enough to play outside. He's another AJ Hawk but smaller. IMO, Fujita is better than AJ Hawk. L is a solid 2-4 round pick IMO. Not 14th no matter how many tackles he made at OSU.

This dude is overrated and will be an average linebacker in the NFL. A LB from OSU is sort of like drafting a Tenn WR or a Flo Qb, good luck with that shite!

the quietest 18 tackles ever

all he did was jump on and ride jacob hester down after he picked up 6 yards

the other LB freeman was a stud though

yep, there was even a website dedicated to his horrible play in the NC game. i know some of you have seen it, it was posted all over this board after the game. if anybody could link it that would be great, i can't find it on google

As much as I don't want to say it, I have a feeling he'll be a bust in the NFL.

The Suckeyes are overrated and so is Laurinitis. The "L" in Laurinitis stands for LOSER! His name should be spelled Loseritis!

Calm down, buddy.

Marcus Freeman, #1 on their team, is a better LB in my opinion.

I think Freeman has more upside. Whether he will be able to use it remains to be seen.

A lot of decent LBers have come out of tOSU. A.J. Hawk, Na'il Diggs, Bobby Carpenter, Mike Vrable and Matt Wilhelm are starters in the NFL. That doesn't take into account former players like Chris Spielman who was an All-Pro LBer.

As for Laurinitis, I think he's a bit overrated, but he will be a solid OLBer in the league. He probably fits best as a rush LBer in the 3-4 though, a la Pat Swilling or T. Suggs. IMO
