No, my anger about this topic is specifically about the breaking of the contract. In general, I'm a happy person.

Yeah. I agree. But sometimes when someone is that insignificant, all they can do is lash out. I'd imagine it would be difficult to watch LSU grow into the powerhouse that it is while Tulane struggles. And then when LSU decided to takes its charity to a more cooperative recipient, he lost his cool and said a bunch of stupid stuff. He just needs to learn when to shut his mouth and take his licks and lie low, until people forget.

Wishing all LSU fans to die in an accident was real nice.

Yeah, like that's going to happen.
You guys just pissed away over 100 years of tradition for a couple of hundred thousand dollars a year. The reasons that you guys have given over the last few months are insulting. You've claimed to need additional revenue (yet other schools who don't have the SEC's TV deal and normally two BCS entrants per year are able to survive with 6 home games), you claim that LSU has a bad deal with Tulane for the games in NOLA, even though LSU gets the majority of the money from that game. Heck, Tulane GAVE you an additional home game with the assurance that it would be made up. Looks like that won't happen. You claimed that scheduling Tulane hurts your SOS, which could hurt you in the BCS, citing Auburn as an example. Yet, you replace Tulane with two I-AA schools, which is what caused Auburn's SOS woes.
That's just the tip of the iceberg with the nonsense that was floating around here.
You have not given any logical reason for ending the series other than "we just don't like you".
Heck, you're even fricking over your own fans by giving them a worse home game that they paid good money for with season tickets, and taking away an opportunity for those Tiger fans without season tickets to see their team live in a de facto home game for them.
All because of two things: Greed and Spite.
I expected better from the flagship university of my home state. I guess I expected too much.

Reading comprehension is real nice too. I wished the boosters who are behind this to die in hunting accidents.
Learn to read, son.

The number of posts you've placed on this website highly suggests otherwise.

Nothing you have said supports this at all. Indeed, according to your logic, LSU is losing out by not playing Tulane - how is this greed? Why is LSU spiteful? And the claims that LSU takes issue with New Orleans is quite strange - LSU certainly did nothing to help that city after Katrina, Rita, and Gustav. Oh wait...

Really? You had high expectations? Funny, since you feel such a connection to LSU that you have never shown it any support. Even funnier that you would expect Louisiana's public schools to put themselves out for a private institution.

I hope Soph reads the above, because you hit the proverbial nail on the head.
I don't have anything against Soph.
I remember my old days on YOGWF before they banned me for absolutely frigging' NOTHING....he and I were privy to some pretty civil discussions now and again.
Plus he is a Saints fan :)

What was your handle on YOGWF, btw?
Anyway, in the long run, it's probably best for both parties that the series ends. I just don't like the rhetoric that led up to this point in addition to some of the nonsense that's being spouted forth by people from both sides.
ETA: I have to say that playing the villan has been fun today.

If you leave its like you're turning your back on the Saints and the city of New Orleans!!!!!!!!!!
Posted on 9/17/09 at 2:33 pm to lsutigerbrian
The only way that I'm leaving is if I'm banned.
Which would probably occur if I started posting on the Rant or if I returned to the Political Talk forum.
So I'll relish my role as the villain for a little while.

Telling people they "swallow" gets you banned.
I know this for fact.

LSU is under no obligation to play Tulane other than the contractual agreement. The contractual agreement should have had stipulations built in that reflected the relative bargaining positions of the two parties at the time of signing which I am sure were met, so why all the hate.
Arguing that your hate filled tirade is in response to the posting of the small-minded LSU fans who posted shite about Tulane reduces you to their level. I expected more from a Tulane fan, I guess I expected too much.
Chill and enjoy the ride.

My anger is more about what has happened AROUND the cancellation of the series rather than the series itself.
But I've calmed down since this morning.
