Another example is a rodeo. I've been to 2 and each time little cows were killed while being roped while hundreds of rednecks cheered.
I just think it's splitting hairs. I left disgusted and I was seemingly the only one who felt that way. Dog fighting is obviously disgusting but I don't see how we can justify rodeos on one hand and not dog fighting.
Again, I am not saying that dog fighting is "okay". I'm just saying that we do so many other things as a society that are equally cruel to animals, and it seems so fricking stupid to get 1,000,000 times more worked up over dog fighting than rodeos or eating veal or foie gras.

Again - just my 2 cents but PETA should skip protesting Vick NFL games and use those resources to protest Rodeos where they could actually do some good. Nothing good will come out of boycotting NFL games over Vick. Everybody agrees what he did was wrong.
You can change hearts and minds if you boycott rodeos and equate that to bloodsport.

Just because you eat it doesn't make it better. shite, the beef and chicken industries have received a lot of flack in recent years for the way that they treat their animals (not to mention the workers), and all of those are eaten. The bottom line is that a hunter can not use the "he killed them for pleasure" argument against Vick, for they have done the same thing. If you derived any pleasure from the killing of an animal, then you killed it for pleasure.
My argument is that I find dog fighting to be repulsive and the animals are treated poorly, even the winners. It's cruel to train an animal to fight and kill. But you don't see me on a moral high horse calling for Vick to be mauled by dogs or anything else absurd (which has been posted here, BTW).
As for hunting, I've got absolutely no problem with it. I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy.
BTW, the best example of idiocy was on another message board where a person said that if there was a burning building and he had to choose between a stranger's infant and his dog, he'd run in and rescue his dog.
