From the same people who brought you, 'hey... free health care won't cost you a dime'.

90% of Saints are LSU fans anyway.

What kind of idiocy is this. When did this Saints vs. LSU nonsense start? I'm die hard both, and many people are too (hence there being a Saints board on an LSU website )It must be Tulane or ULL fans, or people who never went to college trying to start a rift between the two.

tangerine...thats a dumb analogy.Saints fans couldnt brink 20,000 fans all the way to seattle like LSU can. Their support was pretty weak prior to Katrina and LSU, even in the 90s, had strong support. LSU sells more tickets, merchandise, etc. Oh, and the stadium was 90 percent full last night against one of the worst teams in the nation.

also, your LSU hatred is coming across as envy since USC is known to have one of the weakest and most bandwaggon fan bases in college football. They didnt even come close to selling out games in 02 when they were a top 5 team....P-A-T-H-E-T-I-C.

nah, the saints have a strong following in Mississippi and Mobile. I'd say 90 percent of Saints fan living in Louisiana are LSU fans though.

Nope. TV ratings, even in the deep south, even when there are limited games on, favor the NFL.

Despite the people say they like CF better--north, south, east, west, their viewing habits don't support it.

in Louisiana, for every Saints hat/shirt/ decal on a car, you see 15 LSU things. The same can be said in Tennessee with the vols/titans and Georgia with UGA/Falcons.

also 23 percent of people in the south consider themselves avid college football fans (compared to 9 percent nationally) and only 19 percent of people in the south consider themselves avid nfl fans.

This thread wasn't started by an LSU fan for the record.

yes, i know. I wouldn't expect it to be. The sad part is that it's a saints fan starting this thread. Like i have said before the lunatic fringe froms the outliers on each edge....saints fans that hate LSU, or LSU fans that hate the Saints.

Saints fans are some of the loyalist in the NFL. I would put them up there with Packers, and Redskins. We have had sellouts and strong fan support for years even when they really sucked. I was at a meeting in INDY about 5/6 years ago nd as usual they were 8-1 or something and playing a game, when I was ask would I like to go to the game. I said I am sure it was sold out. The person laughed and told me they had not sold out all year. I was stunned as the saints were in the playoff mix and you couldnt steal a ticket.

have a hard time believing that, esp when even this year Indy is #2 and NOLA is #21 in % capacity at home games.

Saints fans are loyal, but so are a lot of teams.

this is stupid. the dome would not be full if it held 92,000. dont try and argue this fact. I dont give a shite how long the waiting list is. people with small children care more about them then they do a football game.

Unless they're LSU fans also, Saints fans could care less about LSU to hate them.

For some reason there are threads asking which has a better fan base and many actually answer LSU. Well, if the Saints were in the running for a playoff spot or NFC South championship and playing Detroit or Oakland on Halloween night, it would be overflowing. LSU fans can't give away tickets for the Tulane game.

From the keyboard of one who no doubt failed to notice 93,100 in the stands till the final gun against Florida, and another 50,000 at least on campus on a rainy day; and another 92,500 against Auburn.
But somehow, 85,000 against New Jersey Universty College at New Orleans on Halloween night is "not loyal."
But half of the revered Coliseum doesn't show up for a Pac 10 game, but that's ok. It's U S Phucking C afterall, where everything is automatically better because there's more people (albeit half non-American citizens), and more media.

you are way, way off on this one. Lots of NOLA folks that are only Saints fans, and not LSU fans really dislike LSU. Lots of Tulane/Saints fall into this category.

You aren't a NOLA guy i don't think, but you also fall into this category. You certainly aren't indifferent to LSU.

I've been a fan of both since the day I started understanding football..

But if there were games for both on the same time and day, I would go to the Saints' game. Bigger and Better players.

And I want to make a note about the Days when the Saints were playing their games in "Tiger Stadium" and the fan base wasn't there? A lot had to do with the discussions of Owner Tom Benson and San Antonio's Mayor Phil Hardberger wanting to move the team to San Antonio,Texas. San Antonio's Mayor spoke out in Public and said that Benson plans were to move the Saints to Texas. Another thing that went on is that Tom Benson fired one of his Vice President for suggesting to have all their home games at LSU. That did not go well with LSU and Saints fans then the boycotting started spreading like wildfires.
