I think they'll be fine.

The full offense just got back together for one game.

The stupidity

it is astounding

quote:

this isn't the Brees/Payton offense we worshiped from 08-13 and it's not even close.

I think you're misremembering some stretches we had those years when our oline would struggle.

Like in 2013 when we had a stretch of scoring:

17, 7, 31, 16, 13

The great Saints teams relied on defense to win a good bit of games.

Offense is 3rd in DVOA despite the oline injuries. Jesus

7th in the league in yards per game is struggling?

And the offense still put up 30+ points in this game despite a BS interception when we were rolling. We struggled down the stretch offensively. shite happens

We also put up 34 on the Panthers defense and made it look easy.

Zero turnovers in the first 4 games.

Forgot about that "illegal crackback block too". What a load of shite that was

Oh I fully understand the crux of your argument. I also don't think his 4.5 mil cap hit is crippling the team.

You have to understand that no matter what any thread is about, Chad will figure out a way to hijack it with the sole purpose of shitting on Morstead. He hates him with a perfect, almost beautiful hatred. It can be relied on like the setting of the sun. I have never hated anyone as much as Chad hates Morstead, but maybe one day...

The offense going completely silent in 50% of the quarters they have played this season is significant. That not making sense to you is what is astounding. They have struggled.

And to the guy with his stats, I'm sure they stacked meaningless yards in the Minnesota and New England game to offset, and 7th in yards for a Brees/Payton offense is WAY under the benchmark. They are probably pretty high in PPG after last week despite being not great the week before bc the 52 mark, another misleading stat.

Lots of people refusing to accept a simple warning. I'm sure they will turn it around, but so far this year the offense has not been good in any game minus Carolina. Anybody who is knowledgeable about the game of football and watching the games would agree.

So your correct if we take away the Carolina game and a half from each of all the other games.

Did you even watch the Miami game?

The offense moved the ball just fine in the first half. Our 2nd drive didn't come until 9 minutes left in the 2nd, and our 4th started with 1:10 left and got points.

Jesus

Then we came out and blew the shite out of Carolina and continued it into Detroit. The offense was red hot

From Carolina to the 4th Quarter against Detroit, we had 27 real drives (including the shortened one vs Miami)

27 drives:

10 TDs
5 FGs
2 Missed FGs
8 punts
2 turnovers

The only thing that slowed them down was penalties and bad calls

So even with 2 missed FGs and the bullshite call that killed a drive, the Saints put up 3.14 pts/drive. The NFL best going into last week was KC at 2.87.

We sure were struggling

Nope. They were terrible for the duration of weeks 1 and 2. Absolutely pissening.

And nice cherry picking above. Jesus

I will try to look at things objectively.

We did not have an identity on offense during the first two games of the season.

1) Reason #1 complete lack of playing time for Brees in the Preseason.

2) Reason #2 Offensive Line Musical chairs

3) Reason #3 No Snead in the offense to have that possession 3rd down and short receiver. Brees has developed that relationship with Ginn know.

4) Reason #4 the forced RB situation and Payton once again forcing an offense through trying to run the ball and split carries.

Sunday the offense scored 31 points. If you subscribe to my theory the defense through the Robinson strip fumble put 3 on the board for them and the offense grabbed the extra 4 points by driving for a TD.

Yes, the offense isn't as good with both high level tackles hurt.

Over 50% of the entire season all during our win streak = cherry picking

I don't think anyone is arguing the team played well the first 2 weeks. Have won 3 in row

It's a drastic upward trend. Sorry you cherry picked

Keep clinging on to the first 2 weeks I guess. We're clearly that same team.

You brought up 2008-2013, do you remember them shitting the bed the past 2 (not counting Carolina) games of the season in 2009? No way they can make a run

How about the start of 2010?

I'm not clinging to anything. I want the Saints to make a run. They looked good in the first half Sunday and I think they will most likely continue to get better but to this point they have been extremely inconsistent. They were 2 of 12 on 3rd down, that is not efficient offensive play.

We both want the same things here. I think they will get better and could even be great eventually but it needs to happen sooner rather than later
