that rule is there for plays just like that one, if a player falls on his side while catching the ball, the second foot may never touch.

Because it was a blatantly missed call. What if we were out of challenges? We should not get the TD because of an obvious shite call? Why have the replay official if they can't initiate a replay on obvious misses?
