Contrary to what this board has said about Olave he seems like a damn good teammate and well respected.

I met him at one of those draft day crawfish boils at the Saints facility. I spoke with he and Alonte Taylor for several minutes. I had a really good impression of Olave in particular. He was pleasant, genuine, and engaging

I know it must be incredibly difficult for you to cope with the fact that your crush is not a starter. Keep the faith, and seek help.

I’m not a Spencer Rattler fan. I just don’t run to every thread on twitter and here and talk about how much he sucks. This is very weird. Especially for someone on our own team.

There’s nothing that Rattler did to demand that he should get a shot anywhere else to be a starter.

Agreed.

Frankly, even as a backup you expect a guy to maybe go .500 for a couple games with a decent team and he hasn’t shown that.

I think Rattler is a decent backup and a good teammate. That’s what I have always said. I also always said that Rattler was not a starter, and that Shough had a much higher upside (which is true). Shough came in and proved it.

What I (and others on here) was making the statements for is that there were people on here acting like he should be the franchise QB and the team just needed to “build around him” for him to look better. That’s not what a franchise (or even just a good starter) is supposed to be.

A franchise QB should be able to elevate the offense (even when depleted)……which Shough did. A good starter can still win games with a few pieces missing, operate the offense successfully with pieces in place.

The offense was PUTRID with Rattler even with all of the starters. Every drive was a STRUGGLE to maintain, because he couldn’t push the ball downfield (or didn’t want to).

People were trying to say Rattler was the guy because they had a different agenda. If someone can watch both guys following this season and still think that Rattler is on the same level as Shough………I don’t know what to tell them

Like I said, I think he is a decent backup and am happy to have him as a backup.

I don’t necessarily disagree with your opinion of Rattler. It’s more of why do you run to every thread to tell us.

This is a Saints Talk message board Bud, this is a Saints topic about if Rattler should be a starter…..or if he’s done things to show that he should be a starter somewhere.

In other threads earlier in the season, there were people saying that “it won’t be any different or it will be worse with Shough…..Rattler is better than Shough”.

Nothing that I have said in any of these threads is untrue. This is what we do here……give our opinions

t I do think he'll be one of those backups that just sticks around a long time.

if he would just lower the ego and accept this, he could be the next Chase Daniel.... long career as a backup in the NFL... not a bad gig if you can get it
