Hearing rumors of a 1-year post-season ban. Would be extreme but Goodell wants to send a message.

This is dumb and you are dumb for flaming the board with this nonsense.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume that was sarcasm, or at least thats how I read it.

/sarcasm is not viable in a post meltdown saints board though, people are way to fired up to catch sarcasm.

also this

This whole thing is retarded. I don't even want to watch sports news right now bc opinions on this story make me want to go through the tv and strangle people. I don't understand how the "high brow" north east can have an opinion so fundamentally wrong.

and this

I havent turned the TV on ESPN. Mainly because its Godfather week on AMC. And i cant watch those movies enough.

I am going to end every post for the next week or so with this:

Goodell should resign.

No way there's a post season ban but I do think Goodell makes an example out of them

Terrible timing forthis to come out for the Saints with all the concussion talk and the CBA

Keep in mind, the NFL is a for-profit and profit FIRST organization.

Fun (if ridiculous) fact. NFL is actually a non-profit organization

IMO, The media is over-hyping the consequences. Especially considering many of these outlets are focused in the West and NE.

Or the fact ESPN has been pimping the Saints as one of the best run organizations in football, only to have it blow up on them like this.

Same shite with Spygate honestly.

So practically the whole league is now admitting to having bounties. Do the Saints get the same punishment now than if everyone had kept their mouths shut? Or do we still get an example made out of us.

Probably, the huge bleeding belching vagina that runs the NFL right now is dead set on proving just how big of a tampon he has shoved up his arse. He should resign.

P.S. I dont like Goodell very much.

I got the feeling you didn't like goodell. But while I know every team does do this in one way or another, I think some punishment has to come down. And to all those thinking they are dumb enough to take this year's first round away from us, you'll be sadly mistaken. If that is the course they take it might be a couple picks this year or next year's first round.

I can't stand him either. He is going to ruin football as we once knew it.

so a guy did admits to doing it 10 or so years before the scandal. That doesn't really change anything. I bet you could get someone from every team to go on the record admitting bounties from ten years ago. That isn't really relevant.

From my knowledge, no other team was outted as doing the same thing at the same time as the pats getting busted.

Goodell wanted it stopped, so he sent the memo around. The Patriots are supposedly the only team that didn't stop, but nobody can be sure because if it was going on, the ramifications of Spygate were very harsh.

I know you're a Saints fan, but Jimmy Johnson is more than "a guy", he's won multiple Superbowls and was a helluva coach.

This is being blown way out of proportion. Spygate was worse in my opinion. They were caught cheating.

Agreed. If this were Dallas, you wouldn't be hearing shite about it.

Our defense wasn't even in the top 15 in PF penalties. I could see the concern if we were blatantly breaking the rules and illegally hitting, but whatever they were doing was obviously within the rules, otherwise the allmighty NFL would've handed out fines. Someboday ought to be looking into the Steelers and Lions.
