Brees could compete for a superbowl this year with either of those teams. Why would he retire rather than try to win another Superbowl?

I'm not going to pretend to know his train of thought, and you could very well be correct. But, I just don't see Brees as an east coast guy. He's 36 has 4 kids, millions to his name, several business investments and a Super Bowl already under his belt. Maybe another Super Bowl run is enough to entice him to play in NY, but I could easily see him walking away when his time with the Saints is done.

If the Saints could unload his contract and get something decent in return, that might be the best thing this organization can do now to help set up a brighter future. Brees ' future in New Orleans as a Saint is nearing its end quickly. Why not do a full rebuild than hanging on to a middle of the pack 37 year old qb due $26 mill next year.

FIFY

And I don't give a shite how much sense it makes. We don't trade Drew. He and we go down with the ship. frick it. I saw a Saints Superbowl in my lifetime.

I don't ever want to see Drew Brees wear another uniform again.

He retires a Saint and a pillar of this community. I don't care if it delays our rebuild 1-3 more years. It's not like the regime in place has shown any ability to rebuild without him. frick all you ingrates who would send him to New York. For what? So Jeff Ireland can have more picks? Ask Miami fans how that works out.

Don't forget the $7 mill signing bonus.

I'm on board for it if the price is right... Clearly want a 1st + another pick based on production. Maybe a 4th and if they win blah it becomes high ... let the value people figure that out.

Saints won't win another superbowl with Brees. GB let Favre go, Indy let Manning go ... it's okay to let go early when the value surpasses production.

Fwiw, I'm game to CLEAN HOUSE from GM to Coach to most players (keep vets who are younger like Cam Jordan to quicken the build).

He's not in that type of role

As a man who has spent a lot of time outdoors in Central New York in the winter I feel confident saying no freakin' way does Brees ever play for either of those teams... but especially the Bills. That stadium is hell on earth for four months every year.

I can't believe people are overlooking this simple fact.

Isn't he director of college scouting? Am I mistaken on that?

Why would the Saints trade Brees when he is perfectly okay clapping on the sideline with the Saints?

We should get Sheldon Richardson and Muhammed Wilkerson and a 2nd round pick.

I'd take Marshall for Brees. I do think people are overreacting to McCown's performance, but if you believe in the qb spot being efficient, why not see what's out there for you? I don't think it will be much.

I agree with trading him while he still has some value. Don't think we would get nearly as much as some on here are suggesting, but if we could even swing a 2nd round pick and a d-lineman, (both teams have great dlines) I think it would be worth considering.
