re: I think we stop at around 35 transfers
Posted by boxcar willie on 1/13/26 at 11:09 am to Vince Lombardi
we shouldn't stop untill we hit 105 on the roster or at least some where close to it. Wonder where we are at right now
Can you pursue your own players that entered the portal?
Posted by boxcar willie on 1/9/26 at 1:37 pm
We have some good players in the portal. We could really use a QB and Colin Hurley and MVB (especially MVB) might be solid pickups, especially with what is left in the portal at QB.
could Kiffen do anything with Holstein?
Posted by boxcar willie on 1/8/26 at 8:35 pm
looks like thin pickings left at QB you look at the portal list. Thought maybe QB's would be lining up to play for Kiffen but I guess not.
re: Do you like cheering for a new team every year?
Posted by boxcar willie on 1/3/26 at 1:01 pm to homemadeshine
It feels a lot more like keeping up with a soap opera than anything else to me, with all the controversy swirling around coaching and coaches moving around, NIL and players moving around and all that. keeping up and watching whether players will return for the next year or turn pro or get in the transfer portal, whos getting paid what, whos coming and who is going, whether they'll play in a bowl game or sit out. All that. It's still kind of interesting to follow but just not in the same way it used to be
re: LSU vs Ole Piss..... Is it a rivalry?
Posted by boxcar willie on 1/3/26 at 12:50 pm to w5oer
Yes, they most certainly have been a heated rival, and there's no denying that in that we play them every year in the magnolia bowl for the Magnolia trophy

College football now is the developmental league for the nfl. The good part of that is that you don't have to get depressed when they lose, but you can still feel good when they win if you so choose. I feel much less emotionally attached to it and don't feel that I have to watch every minute of every game like I used to. Now, if I miss watching a game, if I have other things to do, it's no big deal to me. But for some obsessive compulsive reason, I still follow all the recruiting and transfer portal and all that stuff.
re: If Braelin Moore doesn’t come back should we flip Lamar Brown from DL to C?
Posted by boxcar willie on 12/20/25 at 1:29 pm to LSUPilot07
He's a 5 star number one recruit. He's gonna play where he wants to play. And right now it doesn't look like that's the offensive line. He already said he wants to play on the defensive line so that's a done deal.
re: Why does everyone think we need a new QB?
Posted by boxcar willie on 12/9/25 at 7:19 pm to TigerStick
UP VOTE FROM ME. out of Van Buran, Hurley, and jujuan Johnson we should be able to get one good QB. Wouldn't hurt to get another QB though to compete though if those guys just cant cut it.
Dont know, but arent all 3 of those guys on scholarship? People up in here saying only1 scholarship QB on roster

re: If we can't get Kiffin, what do you think of these other options?

has Dilly ever coached in the sec. Kelly never did and look how that worked out. NBebetter off getting some no name coordinator and let him prove his self same as Dilly will have to but without the hugh buyout
re: Some of y’all need to learn to spell the name of our next coach

Shepard or Sheppard?

agreed. Even though he transferred out his allegience is still to LSU through and through purple and gold. I saw an interview podcast with him, Brandon Taylor, Brockers, and T- Bob and they really made a great case for Kelvin Shepard being the next LSU HC,. They have me sold on Shep. Whoever said Fehoko is a dumbass (the OP) is a dumbass and dont know shite.

I’d interview him. If he seemed smart and driven, had great personality traits, came prepared with a good plan and was willing to take the job with only four years guaranteed I’d hire him.
I agree. I would at least give him an interview. If he is impressive in the interview, give him a shot on a short term prove it contract, Shouldn't just be based off of resumes. We need someone the players will respect and who brings back the fire and spirit to the locker room, and toughness on the field, a real leader, not some overpaid slick hired gun just in it for the money.
re: Who is your walkaway hire?
Posted by boxcar willie on 11/14/25 at 3:02 pm to DiamondDog
Kelvin Shepard- He would bring back a lot of that toughness and spirit that the program use to have among the players and probably be good in the long run,
Napier- Solid coach who probably learned a lot about coaching in the sec the hard way and is now ready
Frank Wilson-because why not?
Sumrall - a more fan friendly pick who is appears ready to take the next step
Golish- wouldn't hate it and would be as good as anybody else
Thats my picks in basically that order and as a bonus we wouldn't have to break the bank for any of those guys.

re: Confidence % that Lane goes to LSU?

are we going to be willing to pay and guarantee the kind of money it would take to get him here? I think not
re: My short list of realistic coaches, FWIW
Posted by boxcar willie on 11/5/25 at 8:51 am to tiggy
Kelvin Sheppard is young and hungry enough
re: SIAP Joe Brady currently betting favorite
Posted by boxcar willie on 11/4/25 at 12:05 pm to BootyFett69
no Kelvin Sheppard betting odds? I'd put him at about +375, odds a little better than Kiffen.
re: Listen to this response from Kelvin Sheppard when asked about the LSU job
Posted by boxcar willie on 10/31/25 at 1:21 pm to EasterEgg
Hire him on a two year, 3 mil a year prove it contract. If they like what they see after two then give him the big deal. Huge upside there. He could bring in the recruits and transfers, and bring back the toughness that this team needs and has the D side of the ball covered. Just needs to bring in a good OC.
Can we talk about Billy Napier?
Posted by boxcar willie on 10/28/25 at 11:57 pm
what was it, maybe 5 years ago he was a hot prospect looking for his shot at the big time. Now, not even a consideration, a joke, a nincomput. However, let's talk about it. He has learned coaching lessons the hard way, he lived it, paid his dues. Went through the school of hard knocks. Now he knows the SEC and what it's about. Like a beat up and angry lion (tiger) ready to pouce back and destroy his prey, just like the LSU football program. Ready to fight and kill all opponents. Strange as it may seem, he may just be the exact fit for this program. Open your minds people, breathe the air, feel the universal mind vibration. Could he be, should he be, the one who is the chosen one? Billy 'the answer) Napier.

If nuss can get healthy and we can actually blow the top off of defenses, everything else will open up. They are selling out bc they know we can’t beat them over the top right now
when defenses can consistantly get to Nuss with a 3 man rush it's not likely the passing game or the running game opens up.
