man...listening to 690, you would think the entire front office and coaching staff is about to get fired over this.

No. You're wrong. If this was Atlanta I'd not even be paying attention to it. I'd want it to stop dominating headlines on PFT.com because it's boring and dumb to argue about Advil - I mean Vicodin.
And this case WAS settled in-house well before Geoffrey the Narc filed suit. It's a shakedown by a "moral" and "ethical" FBI agent who decided it was more important to destroy lives and reputations than to let sleeping dogs lie.

Cop? Yeah, something like that. But I don't hide behind billboards trying to shake down speeders or harass kids for personal use. Let's just say I know how typical federal investigations happen and what goes on behind the scenes.
Do you have to be in law enforcement to be concerned with what's going on here? I would think the investigation of a potential felony drug cover up would concern everyone.

I've seen everything from "vicodin is no big deal" to "Santini must be a gold-digger because I like the Saints and they could clearly not be guilty" to "as long as we keep winning, it doesn't matter".
Nah. I'd have the same responses from reading the same information if "Saints" was replaced with any other team.

Seems like Client client number 9 apparently doesn't understand much here. You apparently don't follow sports and the buyouts that ensue when something illegal either does or does not happen.
Quite honestly, this is kind of similar to DeSean Jackson mouthing off about Donovan and other issues in Philly. Certain things are kept in house, in the NFL...the team is your family. You don't spout off to the media every little thing that happens in the locker room. Lots of family problems don't always make it to the law.
Unless of course, you have that one a-hole brother/cousin/sister/etc. that just HAS to do something, just HAS to bring some sort of godforsaken idiocy into a situation that didn't need it in the first place. It's called tact. Some have it, others don't.
Santini saw a chance to make a buck. He's not getting any younger, his federal benefits are fixing to be cut, and he wants the money (um, or else he wouldn't be asking for it...some fans ugh). Any other head of security for a team in the NFL could do the exact same thing, because you know they have dirt on the team in some form or fashion (and trust me, Atlanta's team doctor has plenty btw).
So wake up there number9, and smell the coffee beans. You're holy law man is out there to make an extra buck over something that he had to whine to Momma and Daddy about that may not even have happened. And that's what has fans ticked off.

You and Kenny are always going back to call it a "Felony" for shock value.
It's a "felony" in name only. We're not talking about 50 kilos of heroin being smuggled into New Orleans inside of fake computer screens here. We're talking about an issue that was settled and resolved and one that dealt with Advi.. I mean Vidocin, a harmless candy I mean "drug".

There's a difference between a case being "closed" and "inactive". Listen- from a legal standpoint, the guy appears to have dirt on the Saints that could put a bunch of guys in hotwater. You can try to discredit Santini or pretend this is no big deal, but at the end of the day, the Feds have a lot of evidence here.

Well put. That's my biggest pet peeve in this, that Santini is somehow being held up as this SHINING MORAL BEACON when in reality he is purposely trying to destroy the lives of some VERY hardworking and successful people to get paid.
frick Geoff Santini. He's as moral and ethical as Judas Iscariat.

No, but concocting scenarios in which this lawsuit is in fact a selfless act to save another is a little bit telling. More than a little bit, really.

I think that the fact that he leveled an ultimatum against the Saints and said, "pay me or I'll sue you" should carry more weight, but I guess that extortion isn't as sexy a headline.

I don't believe he's trying to destroy the lives of the people involved.....because Santini most obviously doesn't exactly care what happens to them. He's got tunnel vision...all he sees is money money money, I guarantee you that.
The aftermath is something he's not trying to accomplish as a goal, he just doesn't care about it...which to me, is scarier than if he was actually trying.

Dude, you think you know so much, but the joke is going to be on you when this suit fizzles and nothing comes of it.
I hope that our legal system and the Feds have enough common sense to look this over, shrug, and move on to a more important case.
Don't act all smug yet because as far as we know this is going to blow over. Then I'd be correct both practically AND legally and people like you and Kenny Wilkerson would be goody-two-shoe bitches both practically AND legally.

Thanks for telling me what I can try to do, as I've done neither of those things. I just question the motivations.
BTW, have you ever noticed that people only file civil suits AFTER the criminal issue is resolved? Isn't it interesting that he's asking for seven figures--MONEY--here?

Of all of the things that are idiotic about America, the prison industry-drug laws are at the top of the list.
I felt this way before this suit, and will feel so afterward.

I believe the term you're looking for is "prison-industrial complex".

Is it just me or does the name Santini evoke either
1. a magician (the great Santini)
2. a dead mob boss off of the Sopranos.
just saying.
