Shockey had his legs already spread out (blocking technique 101) and the dude ran over them. Happens all the time.
Tripping is when you intentionally stick your leg out to try and "trip up" a pass rusher or defender.

The Shockey tripping didn't seem like a trip to me, he was stepping back in because he started outside.
Is it the people on the O-line's fault if the defense trips over there? Shockey didn't kick his foot out or into him, he stepped and the guy ran through his leg.
And now they call tripping on BUF
