Link to the last time a rookie bench player "infected" a team? A Super Bowl team at that?

Didn't we just try this exact same experiment a few years ago?
Hmmm, player w/ similar skill set, character issues, dumbassed his way out of a big-time program......
Oh yeah! Adrian McPherson! That worked out awesomely! Now please GTFO w/ that bullshite.

A Super Bowl team with tons of strong veteran leaders is NOT going to be infected by a rookie, even in a worst case scenario. If you think otherwise, you have a poor understanding of this football team.

Would it hurt to draft Perrilloux?
This is like asking if a drug dealer should be made next CEO of FedEx because he has good distribution skills.
Perrilloux is a locker room nightmare. The Saints just moved away from disciplinary problems by hiring Sean Payton.

The kid used a fake ID, some funny money, and made a racist joke in a restaurant.
And skipped class, and missed team meetings, and didn't show up to workouts...

He has also shown a lot of character by turning things around at J-State.
He was suspended at the beginning of the year for violating team rules.

He couldnt ruin the Saints locker room
Oh yes he could. We have no room on this team for the problems that Perrilloux could cause. It's also clear he doesn't have the personal discipline to keep his shite straight. He may easily make it to the NFL, but not on a Super Bowl-calibur team.

If you think he has a spot on this team, you have a poor understanding of this football team.

You must think we have a pretty weak leadership framework in the Saints organization if you think this. He would be a 3rd string rookie QB. Invisible. He could get busted doing an armed robbery and it wouldn't faze the team.

I never said I thought he had a spot. I saying we should be open to letting him earn one.

It doesn't work like that. It's not like someone robs a store and then everyone else on the team starts thinking, "Oh cool, I'll rob stores, too."

Really? And so when he's being counted on as the backup QB and blows it YET again, it can't hurt the Saints?
Who are you in this hypothetical, the George Steinbrenner of the NFL with an unlimited amount of money to blow on a very leary and expensive lab experiment?

What makes you think I was making that argument?

We have Mark Brunell right now, which is the equivalent of a second tier arena football QB. I'm sure if RP didn't pan out, we could just sign one of those for the league minimum and it wouldn't be any worse than what we are relying on in the event Brees goes down in the Super Bowl.

It would not be safe or healthy to bring that stupid thug back to south La.

Stay on the LSU board with that crap

If RP gets drafted I will be shocked!!!!!

This is not Perrilloux hate, this is just the facts. Ryan Perrilloux is not NFL material. He was a decent (I am being kind) college QB. He was never anything special. Get it through your heads, he is and never will amount to anything on the football field. His career is done. I am speaking strictly on his football ability. I wish him the best in life, but he would be doing himself a huge favor by trying to win at life rather than hanging on to the dream that will never happen.

I don't want the Saints to draft RP, but he was better than decent

Everyone has their own opinion. I think he was okay. Nothing special. If he was as good as advertised, they would not have been scared to death to let him throw the ball in the SEC Championship vs Tennessee that year. If he was really good with the crazy talent and decision making ability he was reported to have, then why couldn't he beat out Matt Flynn? How many games during his career did he actually start for LSU? 2 is the answer. How can you say he was better than decent with 2 showings - Middle Tenn St and Tennessee. BTW - without Zenon's pick six, we probably lose the Tennessee game. I respect your opinion, but I disagree.

I wouldn't mind seeing him picked up as a UDFA.
Didn't read through to see if that was said, but I wouldn't waste a draft pick on him.

Les has always been willing to start younger guys over older players regardless who is more talented.

He was 20 out of 30 for like 250 yards.

agreed, but without RP we start Mr. pick 6himself and lose the game with or without Zenon's play
It's crazy to think RP doesn't have talent, it's the off the field stuff thats the problem
