I agree the bases and mound should be moved back, but I wouldn’t call it criminal. 50/70 is the norm for 12u Perfect Game, so they are only a year behind select ball. 13u select ball in Texas is 54/80. You have your entire 8th grade (14u) year to get used to 60/90. Like I said, I agree the bases and mound should be moved back, but the one real benefit that I see of 13u 50/70 is that a good 13u pitcher from 50 feet is hard as hell to hit. I’d argue that the batters facing good pitching at 50 feet are getting far better training than if they were facing those same pitchers at 60 feet. “If you hit, you don’t sit.” That’s a fact at every level of baseball.

yea you are correct on the pitching thing but hell i think 50/70 is too close for 12u. the LL distance at 12u is just dumb.

Pretty sure the son of the Dutchtown baseball coach played on it also, it's not all Eastbankers.

Don't know how that happened, I thought they can only pull kids from a certain central area?

I noticed you didn't bother to answer the question. It's the same old tired lines in every thread. It's not really funny. Then to top it off, you drop them in a thread that isn't even what you think it is. So again, you trying to get OT cool points, or do you just not know the difference?

You really hurt the travel dads with that one. LSU77 has a complex.

46/60 at 12u is goofy from a base running perspective. It’s closer to fast pitch softball than baseball. It sure helps with the hitting though. Good luck hitting a kid throwing low 70s from 46 ft. That’s equivalent to a 90 mph pitch from 60 ft. LINK

I have my kids do both select and Little League. They often face tougher pitching in LL because of the closer pitching distance. With that said, it really is league dependent.

They mentioned this during the game. APLL didn’t field a team. He was granted a waiver to play on Eastbank.
