satellite looks impressive to me for being nothing much of a system at the moment.
Convection has really exploded over the LLC this evening and it is shedding the convection that was associated with the mid-level vort max. This could be the beginning of the system becoming more vertically stacked, we'll have to wait and see if this persists through the night.

Based on 03z CIMSS analysis the system is still tilted to the south. This jives pretty well with the center location that the NHC went with currently being on the northern fringe of the convection. This combined with the dry air to the north probably means that we don't see much strengthening in the short term, unless the system can get better alignment with the LLC under the intense convection.

I have dinner plans at the applebee's in Denham Springs Saturday, how will this affect my plans?

No surprise with the upgrade, satellite presentation has really improved the past few hours after looking pretty crappy overnight. The system is finally maintaining some convection in the northern portions of the circulation and not spitting outflow boundaries everywhere.

Steady progress today despite a sloppy inner core and being vertically tilted to the south. I wouldn't rule out an episode of RI at some point over the next couple of days given the upper level forecast, esp if the system can consolidate a core and become vertically stacked.

After talking to some techs at Entergy we better hope like hell power doesn't go out all over BR this hurricane season. (not this particular incident)
From our conversation I was told that the demand from all of the gas powered generators will be too much for them to handle and that the pumps will fail leaving BR without gas to go along with our lack of electricity.
Sorry if this info has already been posted but it's too long to read all the way through now. I have other plans for this evening.

I think so being that this board is primarily gulf coasters.. this one won't affect many of us..
