Anyone that could actually afford one wouldn’t be in this thread saying they would never spend that amount on a vehicle.

I predict the Celestiq will be a Volkswagen Phaeton but with more batteries. Maybe I will be wrong, the Phaeton didn't do a light show for you when you walk up to it.

It's essentially a hand built car. They don't plan to sell more than a few hundred per year.
It's actually being built at the Tech Center. Not a production plant.

Almost exactly like the Phaeton with regard to US sales. A hand-built car assembled in a super sophisticated assembly factory priced well over the brand value. It is a vanity/halo project that will be a financial failure, what it does for the brand is less easy to predict but I think it will only be mildly more effective than the VW project. I personally think halo cars have to be at least loosely attached to the brand value and the next vehicle down.
Time will tell.

Not close to the same.
VW, decidedly not a luxury brand, planned to sell far more than a few hundred a year in the US and did. They cancelled it for the US market when sales fell to a point still far above where Caddy expects worldwide sales to be.
There is zero similarity between the two.

Gotta be honest I'll be shocked if they even sell a hundred in the whole celestiq run.
Maybe if they are a big hit in china or something idk

Not for long if the Silicon Valley Bank is just the first.

the real question is, which one of those has the bigger tat right above the arse crack. And which one has a cooter tat.

No way that thing holds its value.

Being an American SUV I guarantee it holds its value better than an S Class or 7 Series.

Not true. I'd never spend that on a Cadillac.

Why do you say that?
Have any idea how many cars Rolls sells a year?
A few hundred Celestiq's per year is not a big hurdle and I'll be very surprised if they don't sell exactly as many as they want. It's a halo car. It is not being made to bring in big sales numbers nor profits but as a marketing exercise for the brand.
At one time Cadillac was on par with the big names like Rolls, Bentley and Duesenberg. They're reestablishing the brands cache. Same reason they are running the Lyriq commercial constantly even though it is, and has been, sold out for the year.

I’m in the market for a large SUV in Texas, and I have been stunned that NO ONE has the higher end (normal) SUVs available, e.g., Yukon Denali, Sequoia Plantinum or Capstone, etc, there is a 8-12 month long waiting list to order or you can put down a $500 deposit and offer $6K over sticker and hope one doesn’t get “damaged” in shipping once someone else offers more. The total price pushes $90K. Is a debt cliff coming or is there just that much money in the market?

Lot of cartel money in Houston.

Cadillac doesn't have 1/10th the brand power of rolls.
Rolls will also be debuting their all electric offerings soon as well.
Just seems like the number of people with the means to buy this would just rather buy the Rolls 99 times out of a hundred and only collectors would actually want this. Like Jay Leno would buy a celestiq but your random celeb/business mogul will get the phantom/cullinan and call it a day.
It's not in a segment like sports/supercars where someone with the means could easily justify buying the Ferrari AND the Lamborghini AND the McLaren. It's a handcrafted luxo barge. There's the best (rolls) and then there's the rest. Why waste time on the rest?

Since they are only looking to sell 1/20th the number of cars the math looks excellent.
*Bentley outsells RR by a substantial margin btw. Plenty of room in the top end market for a few hundred deliveries.
