And then when he changed the first "/" to the division sign, you were (correctly, I might add) still arguing that it was only 9.
Later he posted an image showing the 1/3 as a horizontal fraction, which changed things.

PEMDAS.. If you stick to this you get the right answer. The order in which you work out a problem is like this. In order from first to last is parentheses, exponents, multiplication/division then add/subtraction.
