Every unbiased calculator in the world gives you 9, because it solves the problem as written

You can't type a fraction any other way.

Google doesn't see a difference between ÷ and /

You most certainly have made an assumption. The fact that you don't think you have is pretty funny though.

That’s the worst interpretation of the problem you could possibly do

Well your assumption could be retarded, because if it wasn't a fraction, why would they use two different division signs.
What this really really really is, is a trick problem.
The correct answer is either 9 or 1.

No assumption at all. Simply solve the problem like a calculator.

Did you break? You're usually arguing one side in these.

Does your calculator have both a "/" and "÷?" None of mine do.

You can easily use a calculator correctly and interpret the problem wrong. shite in = shite out

You literally told him to put it in WA, he did, and now you think it sucks

Yes you can. You can use parentheses.. and none are present in this problem.

I simply typed the problem in the calculator exactly as written......

There is no one side. The writer intentionally wrote it this way to make these exact arguments happen. Anyone definitely saying it's one answer or the other is making an assumption, whether they choose to admit it or not.
