Put down 32 beers in 36 hours yesterday. Not proud of it.

I'm a pretty small dude at 6' 160#

The withdrawals kicked my fricking arse this morning. I hadn't eaten a thing in over 24 hours. The shakes were fierce at first, I fell twice once in the shower and trying to take a piss. My nose started to bleed a bit and I've had a miserable experience with that. (no drugs)

Just miserable puking that I almost went to the hospital. The last time my nose bled so much, it was everywhere. On everything my place. Been to the hospital 2 times for alcohol withdrawal. Rehab 5 times. The hallucinations, vertigo from coming down is really bad

Alcohol withdrawal is the most dangerous kind and can be deadly.

ETOH and benzos can be deadly. You can seize and die coming off of either of them. At least talking to a physician would be the bare minimum I'd recommend.

Alcohol withdrawals can kill you. As someone who went to rehab for opiates and saw alcohol withdrawals first hand, they are nothing to mess around with.

You need to go to the hospital and get checked in to a detox facility for a few days.

That's all that make you feel better. It backfires unless you know when and what type with those that get the withdrawals

It's hell. But it is possible to recover and discover life without it. It's really simple, but it isn't easy.

not easy at all, only about 5% of alcoholics that go to rehab maintain long-term sobriety.

My last two longterm relationships (one was a marriage) both thought I was an alcoholic. I was in constant battles with them because they would call me an alcoholic so i would stop drinking all together for a month or two then start back up just to be an a-hole to them. I also (my dads side of the family) suffer from something called 'essential tremors' which also didn't help the situation cause I would/do shake at times, but its not from drinking or withdrawal.

My mom is a recovering alcoholic and she would tell both of them that she knew the signs.... and the more they take digs/make it a thing the more i would drink just to spite them.... and thats exactly what I did. I have pretty much cut out all of the drinking besides when I cut grass.... and even that im getting away from.

Of all the advice thats being given on here the best is to find support. Wife, friend, shrink, whoever. Hope you can find peace with yourself.

100% spot on, one can not do it alone, it's literally impossible.

My dad is one of the lucky ones that got sober and stayed sober. Just hit 30 years back in May.

His father, and his sister drank themselves to death after trying to get sober several times.

Glad to hear that about your father, sad to hear about the others though.

I've always lived by the notion that when something controls you, look out. I've had a couple battles myself with it but I've been able to turn it on and off for the last two years. I have good friends that made me accountable, it's imperative to keep in good company.

Seriously I feel bad for someone who had an addiction. However at the same time I think you can control it if you want. I drink a good deal but I also never feel I need it, I drink because I like the taste. So I can do one a night if I wish. Or I can do like to ight and have 3-5

Sounds like a few people could benefit. If serious I’d love to help. One of my jobs is doing interventions so I have recourses all around the country. If anyone wants to make a change email me user name @ gmail

And know that I’ve been in your shoes. Went to rehab 10x finally got it. Recovery is possible. And the freedom I now have is indescribable

I sometimes wish I could still. I cant though. Cant tell you how many times I was just going to have a few beers and be sociable and a friend and instead ended up drunk as hell and pissing people off, regardless of my intentions.
