You aren't logical at all. By your standards if you're out on your front porch drinking a cold one and someone calls the police and say you have a gun pointing it at people, in you're expert opinion the police should approach you with gun drawn and from a distance. But what if you have no gun. What if you've done nothing but sit there peacefully drinking your beer.
They will give you the benefit of the doubt until more information is learned or you give them reason to pull their weapon. Just like this incident. No reason to pull a gun when you have no idea what the truth is.
That is fair, but people are using the fact that the call was about a guy waving a gun as justification for this guy's death. That is my issue. You cannot argue that they knew he had a gun so they were on edge and what not and then simultaneously say that they gave him the benefit of the doubt and what not.

There's an easy way to avoid situations like this. Don't carry a gun.
Don't RESIST!!!! Dumb arse!!!
Fixed it....

I think they assumed he had a gun. Which is possibly why they wanted to search/subdue him. Same reason a traffic cop asks if there are guns in the car or why you're supposed to tell him. The fewer people who are armed in a police confrontation the less likely something terrible happens.

Glad to see you put up this much of a fight when those fricktards in New Orleans kill cops. When a cop kills an armed felon in a manner you don't like, all hell breaks loose, but if a random black guy kills a cop, not a peep from you. It's really disgusting.

So you would have shot him after the taser didn't work?

Would you rather calm officers or jittery officers? Some of the comments by people who don't have a clue about police work are pretty comical
Calm, of course, but my issue isn't with the approach as much as it is with people who are arguing that the cops were approaching it as if the man was a threat with a gun from jump street and that simply isn't the case.

What does this even mean?
When an a-hole kills a cop, you can almost guarantee that a-hole is going to jail

I never said they knew or were on edge.
Exactly, and my contention isn't with you. Other people have suggest otherwise.

Ran away because he didn't want to face the facts. He wants to go be triggered with his friends. It's much more fun.

It means multiple police officers have been shot and killed by idiots just like this guy, and tangerine only runs to conversations like this to scream how unjustified this shooting was. He's the Al sharpton of the OT.

I'm pretty sure anytime a police officer takes a call where a gun is involved they are going to approach the situation with great caution. That doesn't mean they are "on edge" it simply means they are aware that their lives could potentially be in danger. If this known felon does not comply and then struggles, potentially grabbing a firearm, I do not for one second expect the police to take an approach which could endanger their lives. I believe that was the case in this incident, and in a number of incidents we have seen over the past few years.

Has ve ever called a cop shooting justified? When does a cop shooter ever get off with murder?
They aren't equal or similar situations imo. You don't have to worry about the motivations of the police department when one of their own is killed vs when one of their own needs protection.

Ah the old conspiracy that every white cop is racist, and is out to kill black people whenever given the chance.
