Two cops all over me like that, I'm throwing my hands in the air like I just don't care.
Want to fight with cops? You'll have a high probability of getting beat up or killed.
All convicted felons know this.
The question now is, and we'll never know the answer, why?
a) Heat of the moment, emotional decision
b) Suicide by cop
c) Really thought he could take the cops
d) Panicked
e) Mental illness
f) Drugs/Alcohol
g) Some combination of the above

Non compliance isn't a reason to be shot. I certainly wish he had complied and none of this would have happened.
Hopefully one of the other videos will be clearer on whether or not he actually did reach for his gun. If not this will become a shitshow

Why is your requirement to use deadly force that a person be reaching for a gun? If he has a gun and he gains control of the police officer, the officer is dead. Or if he simply gains control of the officer he can use their weapon against them. Do you realize how quickly that situation can get out of control when 3 people are wrestling on the ground?
That is why it is so important that you comply with the request of an officer. ESPECIALLY if you are armed.

This. Why on earth would the cops shoot the guy if he wasn't going for his gun? The cops discover the fact that CD Dawg has a gun, cops tell him not to go for gun, CD Dawg moves his arm towards said gun. Police have a reasonable fear for their lives when CD Dawg goes for weapon and they respond with deadly force. Case closed.
BUT, the retards in NBR lead by the retard Gary Chambers will probably riot and shite for the next few days. It's so strange. There is clear evidence that CD man clearly went for the gun. Enough said.
During the next few days, if you're white and driving around a shitty neighborhood, i.e. anywhere in Baton Rouge, stay strapped and vigilant.

You are getting too caught up in thinking "did his hand slide down and reach for the gun"
It's very simple. Just state the facts:
- cops think man has a gun
- refuses to comply
- gets tazed twice. Still doesn't comply
- is on the ground resisting arrest and 2 cops can't control him
- cops see what they think is a gun and he is still resisting arrest after being told not to move
- he gets shot
Those are the very clear facts from the video. You can't dispute them

That is my point. That is the point about the whole ordeal. People have a preconceived notion as to what happened depending on their bias. They see the video and only see what they want in order to draw the "clear" conclusions they need to support their side.
Cops could be right or wrong but that video doesn't prove anything one way or the other. I wish it did, but it doesn't. You can hear the cops plainly but you cannot see anything happening.

Well, they did taze the guy twice and that didn't stop him. It'd be great if we saw more use of non lethal ways to subdue criminals, but if he was actually reaching for a gun, the cops had no choice.

This is exhibit A in support of the argument that people see what they want. You cannot imagine why on earth the cops would shoot the guy if he wasn't going for his gun, but I can just as easily suggest that there is no valid reason for the guy to go for his gun when he's on the ground with two cops on top of him. You don't have the ability to see anything from any other viewpoint if you see that video and think ANYTHING is clear.

What? YOUR bias is confusing you
The only disputed evidence is:
- He got tazed twice (which multiple witness are confirming, not just the cops)
- He had a gun (again multiple witnesses are confirming and the police state that in the video)
You don't need anymore facts to come to the conclusions that the cops were justified
He had a gun and was on the ground resisting arrest after 2 attempts to use non deadly force were unsuccessful. Sorry you don't like it, but deadly force is justified. And I think most people would agree with that.

I'm not defending him. I'm defending the assertion that he got what he deserved and/or that these cops deserve a promotion. They did what they had to do and I'm not suggesting otherwise, but people want this to be a good thing and it simply isn't. The guy is likely 100% at fault for his death, but it doesn't mean he deserved to die nor should it be celebrated. I don't believe the cops had any other choice in this situation.

I don't necessarily think having a gun justifies shooting him in this instance either. He looked restrained to me. Point blank in the chest like that is pretty gruesome. But then again if you think your life is in danger...
I do worry though that an officer is capable of getting away with murder or a wrongful shooting as long as he proclaims the perp has a gun, whether he does or not.
