Calm down Nancy and go back and read my post. I said was not under the belief that this was not the story of a cop looking for an opportunity. The story doesn't make sense based on what is being told at this time. That includes the store owners story, or the cops rushing him knowing he was a convicted felon with a gun. I also find it hard to believe the dash cam video got anything of substance, considering half his body is under a car and the cops are flanking him on two other sides. The truth will be out eventually but if this is the only video released you can expect it will push the narrative, especially with so many other holes in the stories being told.

Unless you can't subdue him because he's a big guy, resisting, and the tasers already didn't phase him....and you know he has a gun.

The dash cam and body cams will at least have audio of the start and the escalation.

Because one day someone is going to falsely accuse you of a crime and you're going to resist the cops because you aren't doing anything wrong at all, and they're going to shoot you.
I can guarantee this won't happen to me.
Of course, I'm not a felon either.

So your criteria is gun out and pointed? Damn. Lots of cops would be dead if they had to wait for those two things to happen before they acted.
I don;t think shooting a dude that is down on the ground, with the info we have, was justified. If he was going for the gun? Then yes. We don't know that. I believe officers should be able to protect themselves but what in that video makes you think this dude was a huge threat. I hope a video or other side of the story comes out to justify it more. I was just shocked to see that they took it to that level. Beat the living shite out of the guy but close range shooting like that? Just didn't seem right.
And i do agree with other posters. No he should not resist and should not have a gun as a convicted felon. But does that mean that our officers handled this right? Maybe this just points to a bigger problem within who we have serving as officers. This didn't seem like that bad of a situation. you gotta think they could handle this no problem and not have it end like that.

Advocate Article:

Muflahi, who said he was two feet away from the altercation, said an officer yelled “gun” during the scuffle. That prompted an officer to fire four to six shots into Sterling’s chest.

It just seems that 2 officers could handle this pretty easily seeing that they had him on the ground. If there was space in between them, say 5 yards, and he goes for the gun then I believe they are free and should shoot. But this close up just seems as thought they should have been able to disarm him
It's completely unrealistic to ask cops to give a guy who is fighting them the benefit of the doubt that he won't be able to reach in his pocket to pull out the gun they've seen there and shoot them. It doesn't take long to pull a gun and fire.
If they saw his hand anywhere near a gun and he's continuing to fight them, it's hard to criticize their actions.

Two full grown men can't subdue one slightly larger than them?
And they didn't know he had a gun until after the cops gun was out. Keep trying. The cop handled it wrong.

Hearsay. But if that's what he said so be it. As I stated before he was very likely at the front of his store on the porch. That is about 8 feet away The police said they are reviewing security cam for the store. That's should answer many of these questions

Like the "fell off" comment. Which I admitted could have been said but could mean different things.

Looking at pics of the deceased I'm gonna make a leap and say he's not very intelligent. Couple that with his past and possession of a firearm by a felon. He didn't need to die but in this case I understand. It's a damn shame.

Want to know who thinks shooting a dude even though he's down is okay? Vickie Wax. Look her up.

Can't see much in the video, but that dude was certainly a huge threat. 2 juiced up cops were having trouble with him and he had a gun in his pocket. Come on man.
I try to understand how it must feel to be a black person, and I 100% understand their mistrust of cops and even an unwillingness to comply with the enforcers of a system that they feel is and always will be stacked against them.
However, wtf do you want white people to do? Not be cops? If they are cops, and if a felon is fighting them and a mortal threat, they are going to kill him, and at that point, his race is irrelevant to them, whether or not they are enforcing an unjust system.
I'm not a reflexive cop defender; far from it. However, our expectations have to be realistic, and you can't convict individual police officers for systemic problems.

Flip side is if everything is on the up and up, the officers think they know he has a gun, once the taser doesn't faze him, they are immediately under the threat of return fire from a lethal weapon.
Which is likely the reason the one cop tackled him so fast because he probably didn't think he had time to unholster his glock if the subject returned fire.

I just want you to put yourself in the position of the cop. Literally walk through it in your mind...
You get called to go see a convicted felon waving a gun. You approach him and he won't follow any commands. Your mind has to be wondering where the gun is. Is he having a psychotic break? Is he on drugs? You taze him twice and he doesn't flinch. Now you really start to get freaked out. You take him down and he is bigger and stronger than you and is resisting your efforts. Then you see some part of a gun and maybe his hand is moving for it.... If your heart isn't racing and mind spinning you are an abnormal person.
The guy who got shot was breaking the law and endangering other people. You can't expect the cops to act the same way you think you would when you watch that video on your couch.

Correct. Fell off could admit something different so could have 2 feet. You know I was like 2 feet from them. . Now I can understand you saying he was biased because he knew the victim. However If that's the case then the police are also biased in their statements, because they would be looking out for their own best interests.
