Some Art Deco/Streamline Moderne around Houston
The Gulf Building
The Old Hobby Airport Terminal
City Hall
San Jacinto Monument
Old Alabama Theater (now Trader Joe's)
Clarke Courts
Bank of the Southwest Tower - designed by Helmut Jahn (One Liberty Place in Philly), modern take on Art Deco that was proposed for downtown Houston in the late 80's, would have been the 2nd largest skyscraper in the U.S. at the time, never built.

The state incorporated pretty strong Art Deco elements into the new office buildings they built downtown during the early 2000s. The two that frame the state capitol from a long 4th street was a nice touch.

It's a pretty uniquely American style, and absolutely gorgeous. Strangely, some of the best art deco building are found in Ohio (mostly Cincy, but Cleveland has some good ones)
Agreed. Miami Beach has a whole bunch of them, too. I think that they are preserved buildings (historical) and cannot demolish them unless deemed unsafe.
