Statistics can be manipulated in several different ways to prove a point.

Truth About Pit Bulls

I do not own a pit bull, just pointing out that statistics can show pretty much whatever you want them to show.

Set your emotion on this subject aside and look at it logically.
its pretty fricking logical to recognize that when you have a responsible human being and dog owner that does keep in back of their mind that their dog is big strong and powerful, it's pretty easy to see that there isn't any issues with the breed..

9 times out of 10 there is some sign in the dogs past that indicated the dog had issues before the deadly attacks but was ignored. The dogs are a lot of times not fixed and cooped up in small apartments with females in heat and stupid shite like that. Trashy people in the hood where the media finds these stories to feed people like Darth, like to think of themselves as some breeder and end up incestually breeding these dogs to the point that the whole line is neurotic as hell.

I think those are pure bred stats...but not sure. There are a ton of pit/lab, chow/lab mixes though

So what's your threshold to when a breed becomes too dangerous

If 1 out of every 500 pit bulls killed someone then I would say, yes it is definitely the breed that is inherently aggressive and a danger to people no matter what.

Ah, clever ruse there. I was talking numbers of deaths per year caused by a breed. Nice deflection. Now, I answered your question. Answer mine. How many people have to be killed by a breed every year for you to consider that breed dangerous?

One example, yet I can find hundred (if not thousands) of pitbull killings.

Besisde, the breed in this case is unknown. "Believed to be a lab" is not the same thing as "is a lab". Show me one purebred lab that has white on its chest.

Here is an article where a lab killed a woman. Notice how they say 'dog' in the headlines instead of listing the breed, and the breed is only mentioned at the end of the article. It was even reported as being a pit bull at first because the media just assumed it was a pit bull since it killed someone. I mean we all know labs and goldens are perfect dogs, right?

I've read every post in this thread, every one of them.

I would like all the pit owners and defenders here to know and understand. There's a two year old little boy waiting on his Daddy to get home from work today so we can watch the Mickey Mouse Club House together. I would happily step in front of a bullet for that child. So what I'm about to say, you can take to the bank.

ANY Pit Bull on my property is a DEAD pit bull. In front of you if need be. And you may not want to hang around and protest all that much.

You like them, good, keep them.

You have my deepest sympathy regarding your impending family tragedy and or legal complications, which ever comes first.

These numbers would be reversed. There are far more labs than there are pit bulls.
i don't think you realize how many pit bulls there are in the ghetto. Also a bunch of rednecks have pit bulls for hunting

Google: Are pit bulls dangerous?

2,100,000 results.

Google: Are labradors dangerous?

318,000 results.

Google: Are rottweilers dangerous?

276,000 results.

Google: Are golden retrievers dangerous?

140,000 results

Doesn't prove anything, but apparently, someone must feel the need to address it.

How about you go frick yourself. No chance you shoot somebody's dog right in front of them. There were easier ways to tell us all you're a douche.

So when a dog that looks like a lab attacks someone the "breed is unknown"? Then we need to throw out all of the statistics about pit bulls mentioned in this thread because you know damn sure they didn't test all of those dogs.

You insinuated you would shoot someone's dog if they walked on your front lawn.

Not....if you see a stray pit bull.

I completely understand and you have every right to(my dog will never be in your yard because I don't let my dogs outside off leash). I just hope that gun that you own doesn't accidentally kill someone some day. But i'm sure that would never happen to you. You are a responsible owner.

I agree with him. I'm the father of a 5 yr old and 12 yr old. If I were to see a pit (any pit) in my yard I'm dropping it without blinking an eye. To me it would be no different than if any other predatory animal came into my yard.
