You missed the part where I mentioned the neck tattoos. I would wager that the majority of pit bull owners fit those descriptions

Also, didn't the American Bully breed only emerge as a back in the 90's due to breeding Pitbulls with Staffordshire Terriers in order to create a sort of "super" pitbull?

Yes, it was bred to create a shorter but more powerful and more muscular looking one since the original ones were used for therapy more than anything back then.
So, why pray tell would one want an "more powerful and muscular" version of a dog already known for it's ability to kill and maim other dogs and even people, mostly children and elderly?

my lab was a certified a-hole. I did get him from a friend who didnt know squat about training, so that could explain my distaste for him

I'm saying it's indicative of the demographic that traditionally owns these dogs.

Now that you mention this, I don't know of any Pit owners over 30 that I'd consider trustworthy or logical people. They all seem to have issues themselves. Anecdotal evidence...I know.
One of them constantly posts on facebook about how Pit Bulls are sweet animals and would never harm anyone....but they own a rescued Pit that I've seen transition from docile/skiddish to a complete monster at the sound of a door bell.
They know that their dog is a serious liability but they clearly have feelings for it and don't want to get rid of it.

You just described all Pit owners in one sentence.

Pit bulls weren't for that back when Bullies blew up. They were used as therapy dogs and that's where they got the name "America's breed" from.
I think some of you people are missing the point here though. We are talking about defenseless children, and elderly people in their mid-80's. They don't have ability we do now, whether you range from 20's to 40's or whatever your age.
Grandma was locked in a house, with 8 dogs locked in one room. I'm sure at least one was a female. Wouldn't you be mad if another was trying to talk to woman? Not making an excuse by any means, but it really isn't wise to have an 85 year old in the house alone with 8 dogs, yet alone the fat that they weren't her's. No protection, no 911 call, no help. In the kids' cases, they have no self defense and really don't know what they're doing. Whether they try to play and accidentally harm the dog, some dogs react differently just like us humans do. Accidents happen and both kids could've been saved, but parents decided their lives were more important and hauled arse on the kids. Don't forget they had no supervision in this case. I don't care if he was locked in a cage; why have a 3 year old outside alone in the first place? That's how accidents happen.

Is there a way that we can just sticky 1 pit bull thread so all articles can be posted there and we can just have one thread with people saying the same thing 100s of times over and over?

you can always just skip over the pit bull threads. unless I am mistaken, nobody is forcing you to click on the link.

Dogs can be dangerous. Rottweilers, Siberian Huskies, St. Bernards, Pit Bulls, and Alaskan Malamutes are all recorded killers.

I think you misunderstood me. I actually like reading all the idiots try to defend pits. It'd just be nice to have it all in one thread for mine and everyone's enjoyment.

But the Daily Iberian said it's a pit bull, so it must be true.
