Jerome is an amazing little town
It really is and has quite a history as well. I have friends in Prescott and Cottonwood and we all got together in Jerome for the weekend at the Grand Hotel. That place is like a time machine. No, we didn’t see any ghosts

Was driving it outside of Needles, CA once and there was a Bucees 834 miles away billboard.

Route 66 fest in Tulsa last year had a lot of old cars and vintage campers.
It has been a while back, probably 20 years, but Paul McCartney and his new wife, Nancy Shevell, drove the route end-to-end in a convertible Mustang.
They stopped and spent a night in Oklahoma City. I talked to the concierge at their hotel who set them up with a dinner reservation.

My 2 biggest bucketlist retirement items are a Route 66 trip and a PCH trip
Doing both this summer in a 4-month RV trip. Starting in Kingman, AZ and taking Route 66 to Chicago then stops in WI, MI, the UP, MN, SD, MT, ID, WA and OR then coming back to AZ via the PCH then picking up Route 66 again near Santa Monica and taking it back to AZ. The plan is to drive the interstate as little as possible.

Flagstaff is easily my favorite town in AZ.

We drove from Shreveport to Las Vegas this past September. Starting in Winslow, we would exit I40 each time there was an Historic Route 66 sign. Riding through at dusk was cool as we would see all neon signs light up as we got to Kingman. Flagstaff and Meteor Crater, which is a just a few miles off Rt 66/I40, were my favorite stops.

We live in Prescott the whole area is cool
You're a lucky man.
I can't get The Warden to leave her family here in Commiefornia to live over there. Frustrating.
We'll be in town this week though. We have a duplex in Prescott Valley that we rent out to Embry-Riddle kids. We're in between tenants so we're going to do a bit of upgrading.
Maybe we'll see you around the Courthouse!

Nice.
Looks like some agitators are being bused in and frequenting the Courthouse area.
Prior Prescottonians would not put up with that bullshite.
Stay safe.

10 years ago my wife and I went out of our way to drive the section from Shamrock, Tx to Albuquerque.
Few years back we made an intentional trip to stay the night at the Blue Swallow in Tucumcari, NM. Unfortunately a big hail storm had gone through the week or so before and a lot of their neon lights got broken.
Was still pretty cool to sit out in the evening in the courtyard and talk with all the other patrons about where they were headed/where they’d been.

Stayed at the Blue Swallow Motel in Tuccumcari, NM
I worked a job in Tucumcari for a little over 2 years. Got to know a lot of the locals, and over 2 years I saw a ton of cool stuff both locally and on the route in the general vicinity.
Tucumcari has a really cool dinosaur museum. That area is a hot bed for fossils. All the boutique hotels, old souvenir shops etc. that looks like they haven't changed since the 50's are really cool.
One of the coolest things was a local I met and we clicked because we both collected silver. Before I left they gave me a route 66 1 oz. bullion. Probably worth $20 at the time. It hit $85 today!
