I've probably been 6 or 7 times. I'm 24 now and probably haven't been since I was 16 or so. Like others have said its mainly an older person attraction. Bunch of shows but most are geared toward the older crowd.

Since you are worried about the kids take them to see a magic show. Silver dollar city isnt bad. There is also a ton of go carts and putt putt for them.

It's not a place I would ever choose to go but if you are going to see family you can make it fun

Haven't been in ages but went with my family a few times as a kid. I remember there being some pretty legit golf courses up there.

Went for a wedding 2 years ago and was miserable. It's like going to the beach, without a beach and a bunch of old people. It took an hour and a half to go 1.7 miles from the interstate to the hotel.

Take the kids to Silver Dollar City. It is a themed Amusement Park (old miners, due to the cave that was tho first attraction). They will never forget it.

It's awesome if you've never left your house or watched TV.

Silver Dollar City is an OK small amusement park. There are caves in the area you can do. Eureka Springs is an interesting town. Walmart owns an interesting art museum in Springdale, AR.

Are there any direct flights from either New Orleans or Baton Rouge that fly into or around Branson area?

Not sure about direct flights. Also, Southwest is pulling out of Branson this summer. Your best option will probably be Springfield.

SDC is better than okay and it's not all that small either.

It also just won new roller coaster of the year and is the top rated family amusement park in the country. So there you go.

#1 ranked theme park as well

United flies to XNA ( Northwest Arkansas- Fayetteville,Springdale) It is about a 2 hour drive from there.

I used to go to this place as a kid and enjoyed it. Finally took my kids (11,9,6) last summer and we had a great time. Went to Silver Dollar City and White Water. They have some very good roller coasters

What's great about Branson is that if you are flying Southwest, they get you there no matter what.

Its a money trap. Overcharge for crap that the kids would like to do, and most of the shows suck now. My family does thanksgiving up there every year so the wives can do black friday at the outlet malls. Men watch football and avoid the town at all costs.
