it's not typical though
A couple inches in a hour happens plenty here in New Orleans. If I remember right this happened just 14 days ago.
My main concern is that the water has gone up, not down over the last several hours of no rain. Obviously something is not working.

The system can handle a few inches in the first hour. And a couple in the second.

You bought in the lowest part of a bowl. Gravity is fricking you.

I thought it was 1" the first hour and 1/2" an hour after that.

I was told there would be no math.
I forget the numbers. People have no clue what it takes to move that volume of water though.

The strange thing is areas are flooding that don't typically flood.
I've lived in Mid City for quite a while and have never seen it flood like this. I also can't recall the CBD and quarter ever flooding like this.
Something isn't right.

How far you want me to go back with pics of the quarter flooding?

Lmao saw this shite too.
Well, maybe if your bald dipshit fuher would pump money into infrastructure and not nearly 3 million dollars for the removal of historical landmarks, the city would be better off.

It's raining again, no water moving down here either

The last was about 5.5 inches in the worst spots, and this one has 8-10 inch measurements inside 3ish hours
The average rainfall for the entire 2 month span of July/August is between 12-12.5 inches. Those 2 windows of about 3 hours each topped out at 15+ potentially
These are not normal storms. The rainfall this summer has been off the charts

do you have a system that can handle rain after it has stopped, because the water is still 3 ft high here
Are your catch basins clear? Once cleaned up by myself and some neighbor our block was dry very quick...
Though now it's pouring again

As far as you want. I said I couldn't recall, if you can I'm all ears (or eyes in this case).

I saw the water rise in Lakeview, but my street was fine. Everything by Harrison looked a bit deep though.

I've been here for 10 years and have seen my fair share of floods due to heavy storms. Like I've said 3 times now, the water typically goes down when the pumps are running. You will see the water flowing to the drains which is very easy by looking at the direction of the debris that is floating. Nothing is flowing to the drains, nothing. I'm not surprised that there was flooding, I'm surprised the water has actually gone up, not down.
