We do ham, sweet potatoes, cornbread dressing, mac and cheese and white trash rolls. Not traditional a Thanksgiving dinner, but it’s our tradition.

Yes a couple of times one son wanted pizza and he got pizza. Also made seafood gumbo for us. Non traditional but all a momma wants is her kids at home.

During my years of marriage, we would all convene in San Antonio at Mi Tierra for Thanksgiving supper, since they never close. Between 25-35 people from all sides of each family. We all ate as much Mexican food as possible and had a pitcher of margs and sangria every 5 feet on the single long table. Next day, women hit the shops and men hit the fairways. Really miss doing that.

I got a turkey breast and a small ham. I'm trying Cajun seasoning on the turkey, but I got the ham as well in case the turkey sucks.

We have done ham as well before, and then did turkey for Christmas one year to mix it up. Forgot to mention that.

Always have both at Thanksgiving. Ham for Christmas and a turkey again on New Years.

My first semester in grad school I didn't feel like driving home and hadn't met anyone yet so just decided to make a massive meal of shite I liked and gorge myself all day. Ended up being cheese sticks, fried catfish, pork dumplings, and fried chicken. None of it was "Thanksgiving" food or remotely went together, but it's the most I've ever enjoyed a thanksgiving feast.

We did bacon-wrapped scallops, blackened redfish, garlic bread, and broccoli and rice casserole one year when we were first married.

It was awesome.

Did fried shrimp, double stuffed potatoes, stuffed mirliton, and crawfish balls, 2 years ago. Kids killed it, more than any turkey dish.

When I was a teen and the only one still home for Thanksgiving my mom asked if I wanted something else instead of turkey. Ended up bbqing chicken and fixing baked beans and potato salad while watching NFL. Continued that for about 10 more years until i got married and wife wanted more traditional thanksgiving.

We don’t deviate, per se, but we do add in things. So in addition to a turkey, we’ll have rib roast too. There’s 26 of us this year so it’s not wasted.

Those split top brown and serve rolls. Used to be 2 packs for$1. Now they’re 3/$5. But you have to get them at the cheap grocery store. My friend got them for me at Food 4 Less. My local Von’s doesn’t carry them.
