It's really not that mind-blowing. Lusitania, mostly modern day Portugal, was its own Roman province apart from Hispania.

Hispanic is a more broad term, even though the term includes Spain, most like to be called Spanish. Also, if a person speaks Spanish, doesn't mean they are Spanish. Just because I speak English, doesn't mean I'm from England.

Her name should have tipped you off.

"Jewish" is not a race. It's an ethnicity and/or Judaism follower.

"Hispanic" mostly refers to Latin America but it's really any Spanish-speaking country, including Spain itself.

"Latino" is basically anyone from Latin America.

And yes, Spaniards/Italians/Russians are white because they are Caucasians.

Nationality is not ethnicity.

The Iberian peninsula had a Gallic population (Celtic/Germanic, if those are even heavily distinguishable at this point or some combination - scholars go back and forth) before incorporation into Rome.

Then, Pompey conquered for Rome and they became a Gallo-Roman population. You had Moors and such, come through after that, but the indigenous population is heavily "European" and therefore "white" as we use that term broadly.

Obviously, there are also over 1 1/2% Moroccan of the 2 1/2 % (or so) African born population, plus Latin American, Asian, etc. populations as well.

So, "depends on the Spainiard" is the only definitive answer we can offer.
