Never looked to confirm, but I'm pretty sure I was on it. Which makes me a dumbass, but not because I got caught cheating. Here's my story, choose to believe it or not:
I was in law school at the time. I was single. School took up all my time, and any of my free time was spent going out with classmates. Law school classes were pretty small and you had pretty much every class with the same people, so I didn't have romantic aspirations with classmates. Don't shite where you eat, right? Plus it's not like law school is brimming with hotties.
So I turned to dating websites. It wasn't like Tinder is now. Most of them were terrible. I started to just cast as wide a net as I could, joining as many free sites as I could find. Well, one night, after some heavy drinking, I came across an ad for AM while on one of the other sites. All I recall is that it was a much nicer website than most, seemed promising. It was usually a premium sub, so surely there'll be better prospects. They had a free trial going on, as long as you entered your credit card info (see above - I'm a dumbass). Guess I gave a real email too, but again, didn't realize this was a "discreet" kind of website. Anyway, I planned on cancelling, but of course I totally forgot and had a charge for 1 month hit my card. Oh shite! Went and cancelled and never went back. Never thought about it again.
Then a few years later the scandal breaks out. I didn't even think anything of it initially, because I totally forgot I was a member and I certainly never had any affairs. It wasn't until a buddy mentioned he saw my name that it all came rushing back to me. I never even knew it was a site for affairs, just another dating website. Don't recall seeing that advertised. Or maybe I was too drunk to notice. Besides, I hadn't even met my wife at that point, so I've got nothing to be ashamed about other than everybody that sees my name probably presumes the worst. I've told my wife, family all about it, just to get out ahead of it
None of them care. They laughed. Life goes on, lessons learned.
TL,DR - I got drunk one night in law school and signed up for a free trial thinking it was a dating website. It wasn't. My names on the list even though I was single and never met anybody from it. Some people on the list are just horny idiots, not cheaters

Are there many legitimate women that profile on there, or is it basically full of IG whore fakes with Venmo? Asking for an associate..

On a related note, he has never paid for the YETI ice-chests he owns. He won all 6 of them for free at CCA and Ducks Unlimited Banquets.

I actually know a baw who was on there and he and his wife are still together and had their 3rd kid right after. He found a way for her to buy it.

I signed with a financial advisor in BR the morning the list was leaked. That afternoon I was reading through the list and the owner of the firm I signed with was on there multiple times.
Hope my money was used wisely.

It was amazing how many attorney friends I know claimed to be on it for “client purposes” when they don’t even practice family law. Not to mention an attorney would hire an investor to dig up dirt, not do it themselves and use their real name and residential address anyway.

The interesting part was you could see how much the person spent on the site. If the amount was really low, you'd get the "I only signed up but didn't look" excuse. If the amount was high, well you were SOL. One guy I knew had one of the highest amounts spent. Not sure how he's still married.

A lot of people used Ashley Madison as a regular old dating site, not like, "oh I want to have an affair guess I better use Ashley Madison instead of eHarmony!" I saw a few younger, single guys I knew on the list.
A lot of prominent people with easily recognizable names using their real name or company email like: ray.dinardo@dinardolaw.com
Ashley Madison for a long time did not require you to verify your email, so quite a few people actually probably did mistakenly find their name on the list thanks to some a-hole with a grudge. Sign your boss up when he fires you, type of thing.

My uncle was on it. I was too young to know whether there were already problems and this was the final straw or if this just did them in. Regardless, they were divorced around the same time and I know he was on it. I'm pretty sure it was the final straw, but who knows.

Yep a local atty was on it. His practice is not one that handles divorces and such so he shouldnt have been on it for that. But he also wasnt married either so not sure why he was there, but had a gf.

I was on it, but I’d been divorced for awhile and was on a bunch of dating sites. I signed up for that before I knew what tinder was. I met 5 women on there I’m a relatively short amount of time.
2 were married, 2 were single and 1 had a bf.
