Yea.. total shithole.. just an awful 3rd world city like Baltimore or Birmingham or Mobile, AL or Baton Rouge or Los Angeles.. just a terrible shite hole city with awful horrible people that live there. Terrible economy in Atlanta.. Atlanta is such a shite hole city that the Olympics and World Cup wanted to be played in this shite hole of a terrible town
Our pro baseball team is a shite hole. Worst baseball stadium in MLB. Our baseball stadium is worse than any pro baseball team's stadium in Alabama, Tennessee, Louisiana, Mississippi . frick Atlanta.. what a terrible and awful American city

Apparently you aren't aware that the in-city population is growing and has greatly gentrified in the last 15 years. Along with crime going down
All of the undesirables are moving out of the city.

90s Buckhead will never happen again b/c COST AND SECURITY at CY. At most it'll be a playground for older more financially comfortable college educated adults 35+. Atlanta is writing the blueprint on how to positively transformed a city from a ghetto public safety hazard to a liveable desirable thriving city. If Atlanta was in a liberal state none of this would happen ... look at Chicago's downtown ... all the momentum it had was ruined by stupid liberal state legislators and it can't get back on track no matter how hard they try. Actually some of those wealthy conservative and moderate Chicagoans will end up in Atlanta .. it's inevitable .. Atlanta is making some noise

That is a lot of it, sure, but a lot of it are stereotypes people have of Atlanta that have either been debunked(crime ridden inner city) or just plain false( chocolate city)
The crime stereotype is very much true. You gotta have street smarts in Atlanta. And of course APD cook the books with those false crime is down statistics. I do believe it's down in the more gentrified neighborhoods but it's still very much a problem. Instead of asking is crime down, people need to ask if crime is below the national average which it's not.
And yeah I agree Atlanta is not a chocolate city ... that's complete false advertisement. I'm always there for work. Been traveling to Atlanta for 20 years now ... I never seen so many non-Black people in the city limits or South of I-20 like I do now. I've even seen White people jogging down Metropolitan Pkkwy and in Bankhead. It's absolutely a diverse city and the Black % will keep shrinking and moving further out.

Atlanta is definitely on it's way to becoming the premiere city in the American South, surpassing Nashville, Houston, Dallas, Austin, and Miami by a much larger margin than it does now. Smart people have caught on and bought real estate before they reach NYC/SF/LA level prices
The greenery, good mix of people diversity, the professional sports teams/venues, the Beltline, the top tier colleges, the airport, the diverse beautiful neighborhoods, the diverse economy, the 4 seasons, the Appalachia influenced topography, the unique urban amenities, the CURRENT price point for cost of living ...nobody else can compete with that anywhere actually ... not just the American South.
And this is rarely mentioned but Atlanta has pretty strong leadership. The democrats in the city work very well with republican state leadership. Mark my words, Atlanta will be a top destination in 10 years

Those images don’t even show 1072 West Peachtree. The structure recently topped out at 60 floors and it is the tallest structure built Atlanta in 30 years.
It is the the area in those images where Regions Plaza sits (formerly IBM tower) and 1180 Peachtree(Symphony Tower.)
