I agree with you 100%, my issue is that my and my girlfriends jobs will expect us in our work offices within 4 hours after power is restored.

the line to the back of woodland ridge jumps jones creek behind episcopal. there may be an issue there

I'm pretty sure that substation on Terrell feeds us Demco customers in WR and there's a tree on the line about a quarter mile up the road towards Jones Creek Blvd

This brutal… got forced to work at the hospital Sunday- Tuesday and then when I get home we have no power. Since I’m on graveyard I have to try to sleep during the day when it’s 100+ degrees inside and need to stay up at night to go back Thursday.

throwing out my whole freezer/fridge and deep freezer was not pleasant today. 4 full black trash bags and food is sitting in sun outside my house

My freezer is still iced down but fridge is toast. I suspect I’ll get another day out of the freezer. Chicken was frozen solid at about 7:30 pm

Also have Demco and off of tiger bend not far from Elliot road. Half of our hood (the Entergy half) got power back this morning. My half, all Demco, is still out. As others said, it’s the complete failure of communication from Demco to their customers that is infuriating. Just give me a timeline. 2 days, 7 days, something. But having to go to backchannels to find that Demco knew since early this morning that it would take “weeks” is pissing me off. I don’t buy for one second they aren’t capable of giving anyone estimates.

Yeah, I'd be fine if they said we estimate next Wednesday for power in your neighborhood. Then we could decide what we wanted to do.

What? Much worse winds yesterday.

Peak wind gust recorded in Baton Rouge during Ida was 65mph, Gustav had peak winds of 96mph in BR, Gustav was a much more devastating storm.

All the same 16 hours? I'd imagine so. The point being: should anyone expect their power to come back at 3 am or all they all sleeping then?

It is much more efficient, and safer to work during daylight hours.

That’s not right. They must have measured on the west side of Baton Rouge and not the east.

Only due to the airport being the “official record”. A bit deceiving as the stronger side of Gustav passed much closer to the BR Airport than Ida did. Would imagine areas on the southeast and eastern portions of EBR parish were impacted by gusts in the upper 70s.

Uh, no. Its much more efficient working around the clock with 2 or 3 shifts working and switching off throughout a 24 hr day period. Thats why plants do it. They need to be working around the clock right now. There are shite loads of homes and businesses without power.

I guess this puts to rest the “do they even work at night?” argument.

Good news. Every power restoration is less gas demand.
