This roster is stacked. I wouldn't hate adding another OL or 2 though.

That’s ignorant. Saban is the GOAT at recruiting

He'd still get HS kids but they'd transfer for more money these days after a year.

However, when $$$$$ became part of the equation — Lane shines. Saban hates this scenario

Most LSU fans are just now realizing that we have more money behind the program than most of the non-Texas schools in the SEC.

Kiffin could only be doing this because the big money boosters gave him a giant bag to work with.

Saban would have struggled with the portal too because Texas Tech and Miami could outbid Alabama for players.
Man that game in Oxford will be ugly next year
Most of that money above the shared revenue is probably from private donors. Graves, Spaht, Rutland, Lipsey, Gordon etc.

For Graves and Spaht $10-15 million is a rounding error.
His brother probably told him to go play for Raymond. He went from a 3rd team all ACC guy to probably the 1st corner taken in the draft and a top 10 pick in 1 year.

I inherited some shares of it a long time ago. It’s split twice and we’ve sold some but only to stay balanced.

My great uncle was an attorney for Esso which then became Exxon. He and his wife had no children and a shitload of Exxon stock. Think that it was part of their bonus program?? He died in 1976 and she in 1993.

I was blessed to inherit some and will always keep at least the same amount I inherited.

Pretty similar story. I inherited some XOM stock from my grandfather who worked there for 40 years or so. I sometimes forget about it because it's in a one-off account that I rarely check. I just set it to reinvest the dividends and might look at it twice per year.
There aren't paying Leavitt $5 mil or whatever per year to be a backup.

I remember when GM put some kinda of lock nut on their tires. Why isn't this practiced more.

Because the tire shop will forget to put the key back and you'll get stuck on the side of the road. Those things suck

You can still get them off without it if you are willing to ruin 4 sockets. It would be noisy for a theft though.

Kelly did pretty well in the portal.

He obviously was given a lot of money last year, but it wasn't allocated that well. He brought in more WRs than we needed, but didn't really fix the OL. Even fans knew the OL was the biggest question mark on that team too.
Kiffen said one of the main reasons he came here was LSU's NIL budget. Some of the big money guys are obviously giving him a shitload to spend.

I started at 20. Was done at 25 and now I’m in my 40’s with my kids out the house.

I have no regrets.

Our youngest will likely be out of the house in August and I'll still be in my 40s.
I refuse to believe all of these high end OL recruits were just not good players. All that left ended up at SEC schools. Our scheme and development just sucked.
It's just been kind of a melt up. We haven't really had any big moves recently.
I think we'll be ranked 10-12 or somewhere around there.

This team is going to look so different next year.

Durham is a good back. It was our system that sucked.

If you aren't an LSU fan it's quite easy to hate him.

I can understand why some people don't like him, especially after his exit from Ole Miss. He's always been kind of controversial.
Hope we add a 3rd QB today and some more OL.
