Nope it’s not that tree. Just found out today it’s not the problem. We’re fed from the back of George O’Neal

They will have guys out along feeders on the ground during when closing in feeders for energization to coordinate a quick fix if there is one.
So, if work was still being done at the sub at 7:30 PM. and every one of the ground crew trucks and linemen that had worked on the feeders hauled arse at 6PM on the second, it is safe to assume that energization is not imminent and that tomorrow will be another morning with no power?

Apparently my mom's house in Prairieville lost power just a bit ago. Weird, since she had it restored so quickly after the storm.
That can happen. Sometimes they have to shut off the power in one section to connect another. Think of it like two water hoses that connect to each other. The hose farthest from the tap is so full of holes that your sprinkler on the end doesn't have enough pressure to work. It's going to take you two days to fix that jacked up section of hose, but the other section of hose that screws into the tap is fine. You put your sprinkler on the section of hose that will hold pressure and turn the sprinkler on so you get some water on your lawn while you repair the other section. Once that's ready to hold water again, you've gotta turn the water off to the good section you had running to reconnect the second repaired section and reattach the sprinkler to the end so your whole yard can get water.
Electrical wiring is just the same except that air conditioning comes out the end and it will murder you until you are dead if you try to drink from it.
That's my explain like I'm five.

Our line runs through about 500 feet of woods and has two trees on it. Only feeds 23 houses. How low on the priority list would something like that be?

Uses microprocessor based relaying and can be coordinating well with other devices on the line.
I imagine they’re running mostly Schweitzer SEL751s? Very familiar with that piece or equipment. Re-closing a few times with tree limbs makes sense.

Apparently they didn’t do this on the feeder on west Lakeview since all 3 phases of a 20kV line were draped across someone’s garage. I was surprised it didn’t cause another trip but the linesman explained to me today that those wires are insulated. I assumed they were bare and would’ve expected another device to trip.
Regardless, for someone to not walk the circuit out and see where the fault is seems astonishing to me. The tree was cleared but the lines were not re-mounted on a pole before a fuse was replaced to re-energize the line. I figured there was no possible way that line would have been energized for 14 hours but I was wrong.

We need a prayer group for IEJT, Westminster and Drusilla.
People in this subdivision are ready to lose it. Atleast I'm.

Yeah. They do have some insulated cables and tree wire in some cases, but I think they are trying to replace these with bare conductors where they can.

With all the generators running in IEJT, we could probably have our own power plant.

I’m getting a headache listening to my generator drone on.

They are waiting on us to turn on each other and start fighting.
Then they will gamble on us.

Latest word on the street is that they had to purchase equipment for either the substation on Jefferson or the transmission lines that come in and delivery is "a few days."

I had the fam head to Laffy on Wednesday night and spent the past 2 nights in my house alone. It's almost amazing how your mind can start playing tricks on you when you're in a hot pitch black house alone when nothing but the sound of a generator.
