What is it about all you truck drivers that get rear ended so often? Do you all brake hard or something? Seems like a high proportion based on this thread.

I did have a truck driver back into me once and frick up my car. It definitely cost them more than if they didn't have the hitch in. But I think that happens a lot less offense than getting rear ended.

Look at the dented up and smashed in rear ends of cars the next time you drive around. It's a high proportion of accidents period. And accidents are unfortunately very common - reference your insurance bill and the fact that despite record high auto premiums most insurance companies are losing money on auto insurance for proof of that.

Have ever actually seen how a hitch or bumper attaches to a vehicle? They essentially attach at the same points.

This is wrong.

Nope, goes in the box.

Hate when people steal stuff as well, so ill just avoid the confrontation now that I normally have my 2 year old with me.

I'll admit I ran into the back of a truck once on the interstate.

We were going at high speed and then came down to stop and go. I wasn't calibrated yet. The truck was hauling some stuff in the bed so I couldn't see around it or through it's window.

Awesome enough it hit the thick metal front LSU license plate on the SUV I was driving. It was like an immoveable object hitting an unstoppable Force. Looked like nothing happened.

No

I know someone who was rear ended pretty hard, and the extra leverage from the hitch fricked up his frame...
