I think lightning got my generator. Control board fried right after a big nearby strike. Swapping it out now. This blows.

Still no estimate for me in 77007. We’re up in Shreveport visiting in-laws. If we still don’t have power by Sunday, I’m heading to BR

at the latest ,,,, maybe before its smaller areas those that have tree damage can't start the work until the trees are removed that's the delay we don't have enough lumberjacks

I worked for the County when Harvey hit

I am certified in disaster response

both natural and unnatural

My estimates are based upon information I've got plus Ive gone through this before Harvey esp

And having set through countless hours of certification and testing and study

It works how it works
or in this case doesn't work the way it doesn't work

if this was about sandwiches Id let the women speak

Can confirm very limited sightings of work trucks in Oak Forest. Went by my house yesterday & finally saw two at the intersection of 43rd & TCJ heading to Garden Oaks. I feel pretty certain I won't have power until next week.

I think we need to acknowledge how good the infrastructure..

For the Whataburger app is. (I'm making up the numbers) they probably went from 500 people a minute using the app to order curbside with the location feature to tens of thousands checking power status. And it still works, no timeouts, etc.

I'm guessing it's on their Azure infrastructure, and someone correctly configured the Azure version of AWS' Auto-scaler. Good job gents!

which infrastructure?

the plan itself is solid ,
management in charge at the time , poor
hard infrastructure, crumbling
soft infrastructure, mixed bag some good at dept level and boots on the ground
communications BIG TIME FAILURE there

Fixed. 26kW Generac. Drove all over town and found a new control assembly and just got it back up and running.

I might try to warranty it since it didn't actually get hit but just something nearby. Fortunately, we probably won't be making any claims. I also got lucky that my generator guy was 2 houses down installing for a neighbor and he came and gave me a hand swapping it. I installed a whole home surge protector while we were at it.
