do you not understand they were trying to get rid of one of the 3 lights that were within 50 yards of one another.

Obviously, we do. However, given the amount of cars that needed to turn, they needed to keep that light.

this was before the stupid addition of a second light.

All they needed to do was add a green arrow to the rotation, ie both eastbound lanes were green/green left all others red. then both westbound lanes green/left all others red. then onto boyd.

ETA: but aren't you a cop? I wouldn't expect you to understand critical thinking/problem solving...

no those amounts of cars do not need to be on East boyd.

The main problem was having those 3 parallel streets with main feeds(Tigerland, Parker to acadian) feed in the 2 opposite corners. That was a major screw up but that cant be fixed right now. So the public needs to get out of the mindset of using East boyd and use parker or Jennifer Jean. Using East boyd is what fricks up the traffic.

And at this point, it still sucks for me and the other people living on E. Boyd.

Inconvenient for you but hopefully it helps out the bigger problem. We will see what happens.

Also, I'll try not to be a dick in the future and tell you you don't know anything now that I realize we know each other, but I can't promise anything.

The problem is that Jennifer jean doesn't connect to highland and Parker doesn't connect to Nicholson. Eventually, Parker will, but it doesn't right now.

They need to finish connecting Parker and go imminent domain some shite and make Jennifer Jean connect to stuff if they want that configuration to work.

At present, LSU Avenue dumps off into a gated condo complex. It loops around back there and at one point runs parrallel to a canal. Jennifer Jean dead-ends at that canal. All one would have to do to connect Tigerland to Acadian and make this whole f&*king thing make any god-damn sense is build a bridge over that canal and tell the condos that they can't be a gated community any more. Boom. No houses get demo'd and nobody dies.

If they wanted to go one step further, they could extend Dodson, running along that canal on the same side as Jennifer Jean and have it connect just past the last house. That way, people can move between Parker, Boyd, and Jennifer Jean without using Burbank.

basically what my explanation earlier was implying. If they extend Parker to Nicholson a lot would be fixed. but this would also fuel the need for Nicholson needing to be widened but that brings out a whole nother heap of problems.

Nicholson already needs to be widened and the plan to do so has been around for over 10 years. Heck, the plan for turn lanes on Nicholson for turning onto Lee/Brightside has been around since 1989. It was supposed to be done before Brightside was widened.

1. Nicholson needs to be widened.
2. They're waiting on the railroad because railroads have a ton of power in this state so they'll be waiting as long as that railroad asks them to wait.
3. Boyd should still have a light. If anything, Jennifer Jean needed to be the light that got axed, unless they follow my advice and connect Jennifer Jean to LSU Avenue.

I just don't see what is so hard about making a left from Jean onto Burbank, then making a quick right onto Boyd from Burbank if you're trying to get from Nicholson to Highland.

Does it suck if you live on Boyd? Yea. But there are exponentially more people living on Nicholson, Brightside, River Road, etc. Jean is better equipped to handle the left turns. Traffic will not back up on this road like it does Boyd.
