Tents and appropriately sized sleeping bags.
With a customized dart board with the names of state parks within a so-many hour drive, to decide which ones you all will spend a long weekend together. And a cook book for camping.

But having a young pretty girl living in your house adds a dynamic that’s not always a treat for a husband,
The lady who interviewed us wanted to make sure to inform us that au pairs from Brazil have different cultural norms when it comes to swim wear etc. I told her that it would be an adjustment, but ultimately we want what's best for the kids and we'd find a way to make it work.

We bought Segway Ninebots one year and the boys rode them non stop. The Segway go-karts look pretty cool.

Buy those kids some push mowers and rakes. They could have a very productive summer.

At age four, Santa brought me a power wheel Bigfoot monster truck. I loved that thing! Pretty sure that year I also received a pop gun to take in the duck blind with dad. Great memories.

Why should Santa get the glory of the "Big Gift"?
I never understood this mentality, tbh. If you're going to play the Santa charade, I feel like you go all in.
My friend puts all the shite gifts from Santa and puts her name on everything nice, and it just seems silly. In just a few short years, they'll learn it was all from you all along anyway.

Kids today are spoiled as shite. And a lot of them act like they expect to get what they want. I remember I would pick out 4 or 5 things I want and Santa would generally pick 3 of the 4 or 5 things I picked. Part of the excitement was seeing which of the items you picked you would get.
Kids today, if they want an expensive items, they don't just want that its just part of everything else they want.
To parents who has always gotten their kids what they asked for.. Why? Do you not teach them to appreciate getting something?
