I've never seen a mediocre franchise be so content with the state of the team and not attempt to upgrade anything.

Are you too young to remember The Saints when Bobby Herbert was the QB?

My Grandfather never expected the Washington Redskins from the 50s to win, just to play the game.

This is a really bad story.. A nun I knew who taught in Chicago had something similar happen when one night a student of hers sought cover in her nunnery, and the Mother Superior wouldn't let him stay even though the gang were waiting outside for him.

It's good to read a TulaneLSU response, maybe the only positive.
Remember, Jolie was AI regenerated so her figure would be more memorable.
Add a three free throw penalty for obvious flops?
And I've wondered why cars are more expensive now.

Could some company reinvent the family car to be simple: no electronics, no voice commands. Incorporate the safety physical collision features (the crumple engine compartment and hood, for example)?
That DOESN'T include other shale oil or the east Texas fields or anything that might be offshore.
The original list has players because of the name schools they attend, with less attention to them and their skills.
I'd make them a sublist to include Clemson, South Carolina, Penn State and UCLA.
They better make it disposable and easily recycled, because that franchise goes through stadiums like **** through a goose.
In Grad school, I never could afford the hotels where meetings were headquartered. I had a great travel agent who found good local hotels at a ffthe the price. (Never Indian (dot) owned. I'd aske the clerk where he or she would go for lunch. I was never mislead and I remember the restaurants in Halifax, Bristol UK, couple of cities in Spain, and Calgary. Taxi drivers back then were also good leads.
did you mean to type Monte Kiffin?
I, for one continue to enjoy my memories of the Oilers.

The Titans failed to be interesting and misused Mike Munchak and Vrabel. . and the Texans chose a default name.
Thank you for posting that. Every so often I miss living in west Houston: the stores and the restaurants and the people who were friends.
I know way too many of those segments in the top thirty.

And since this country is crazy for football,

But you can't really say that. Part of the country is, but large parts aren't.
If you travel on weekends, you may land in parts of the country where there is NO college football coverage on Saturday night news. That is in states where the colleges include Division 1 schools as well as the lower number Divisions.
Watching some of the lesser bowl games, the stadiums were empty or at the very least the fans came camouflaged as colored seats. What was viewership for those games?
When Saturdays in fall, any Saturdays, not just away games in the SEC are fully booked for weddings without working around games, then we'll know that the tide has turned. (Double meaning intended.)
If there's a Pull-a-Part anywhere near you, you can check their inventory on line to see if the rims for your specific car are available at a decent price. They list by make year and model.
Because they sell groceries and can't afford the additional insurance that would be required. That insurance would raise the price of groceries how much?
Team C is firing an OL coach, Team D has let their OC go, Team J has fired a head coach, and on and on and on.
Is this a version of the definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
With the same team players at the same positions, will a position coach change make a difference?

I could imagine a Strength and Conditioning coach imposes different protocols and get different results.
Maybe change the guy trying to bring the QB up to a level (and unteaching bad foot work, teaching faster releases, working on peripheral vision, but for most of the field, how much difference do coaching changes make?
If they have his so-called rights, are those rights for free or are they keeping him on salary?
I wholeheartedly agree with the Oiler fans above. I still get misty eyed when I remember the sesquicentennial opening of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo when we in the crowd politely applauded the governor, and then Bum Phillips entered the stadium and the place erupted, every man woman and child stood up and cheered loudly for our favorite coach.
And Earl Campbell but not quite so loud.

So watching Pittsburg last night and kind of wanting the Steelers to win was a massive "how things have changed" moment. Why the Steelers? Because they weren't the Texans.
The young men and occasional woman may not realize that state taxes are minor compared to Federal. Oh, well, they will learn from real life, even if they are too busy to learn from their college classes.

The side by side portrait is great. Someone will AI him into a white shirt with that same tie, I hope.
Benjamin Moore Paints has a "historic paints" sets of colors based on paint that was used way back when. We used it for exteriors on our 200 year old farm house and people asked about it, and now other older houses are painted that color within five miles of ours.
We've also used some of those interior colors for our dining room and master bedroom which are large rooms and don't need the light colors to make either look bigger.
