Shouldn't New York State be on that list?
There are nice people there who live in lovely countryside, BUT nobody cares about them. New York city is full of the dregs of the universe and they have such a huge voting block that the Senators don't bother with the others, just cater to the city masses. The city masses matter, and the rest of the state is just there;

A local story from along the Holston River east of Knoxville.
Good farm land, well watered along the river.
A farmer who lived opposite us on the river decided to grow watermelons.

The vines grew well and made lots of melons. When he and his brother went to harvest, they were horrified at the prevalence of Black Widow spiders in their melon patch. They went to the store to complain.
This is where the story got legs.
They demanded their money back for the seeds because the guy had sold them watermelon seeds with black widder spiders and they thought they were getting seeds without spiders.

I'll shorten your comment to

Who?
Maybe the helmets will encourage the youth of D.C. to chuck spears now.

The colors are definitely a feel good return.
If the drugs reset reality, does reality stay "reset" or are the drugs going to be a daily/ weekly part of their lives for the rest of their lives?
Must be nice
With that amount guaranteed, it wouldn't be nice if you are the one signing a whole lot of checks to him if he were to decide to retire next year.
Tennessee State Gov. has a passalong pension.
An example:
Coach Pat Head Summit died young of dementia. Her son was designated by her to receive her state pension and he will receive it for life.

A very wealthy friend of my Grandmother had two, one black and one white. They were named Salt and Pepper. I met them one day on a visit to her home, and they remembered me for years even though there would be several months between visits.
The three liter soft drink plastics also made great cloches for protecting young plants from late freezes in the spring. Didn't last very well from year to year, but we thought they'd be back next year. Until they weren't.
I have read too many Charles Dickens novels and other stuff about groups of beggars. Those made me (tragically) wonder if the dog was injured before it was adopted by the homeless guy, or if the injury was done because an injured dog makes pretty much everybody want to help it and help the dog and master at the same time.
Slime molds will do anything for oatmeal. Just thought that bit of trivia deserved appreciation.
The people in charge of timing are hired as favors to their smarter family members, and the trash collecting trucks aren't hiring just anyone.
Leo delivered a speech in Cameroon and warned that the world is being ravaged by "tyrants." He has emphasized peace and warned against justifying violence through religion

Has the Pope never heard of Boku Haram and the kidnappings rapes and murders that are their specially in the part of Africa he's pontificating in? Much less the destruction of so many priceless manuscripts by the same gormless men in Timbuktu?

Maybe for one or two years until other states decide that LA has discovered a great way to hide corruption and transfers of money and joined in a version of "Don't ask 'cause we won't tell."
Savannah: if only they hadn't surrounded their magnificent historic district with three housing project, one for each of the land sides of the district; the fourth side has shops etc. and the waterfront.

Their air quality is better: lots of spanish moss.

To get tickets for their equivalent o fLe Petite, we had to ring the door bell and someone came to unlock the door. Saftey first, don't you know.

SCAD is a different level of pretentiousness than Tulane.

We looked hard at Savannah and decided it wouldn't have been a step up from NOLA and our home in the Quarter.
Who has legal and medical power of attorney? maybe have that conversation and suggest that you have his and he has yours.

Sometimes you won't even need that (in small towns) With my Mom, I was listed with all the places she'd pay bills monthly and the understanding was that she was failing (no dementia but her body wasn't doing well) and if a bill wasn't paid, they'd contact me by phone and I'd cover it by credit card/ I was an only child and my Father had died six months earlier and I lived in Texas. a far piece from home in Virginia.

A friend found that his stepmother who had been hitting him up for money because she was so poor....well, she was sending money every month to anyone who asked for it, and they did, every month.

Be thankful they adopted the European trait of wearing pants as a trans-cultural appropriation.

I don't speak dog, nor do I speak the pug-ese dialect. How did your pug tell you that he/she wanted to walk with another dog and you? Maybe he/she would have preferred to sit at home in his/her favorite sunbeam and scoot over when he/she had munchies.
I did marry a man and going on forty years later we are still happily married.

You do realize some of us have friends who are women and other friends who are men.

eta: I guess I need to add that I am a woman, have always been a woman, and the only surgery I've ever had was removal of two wisdom teeth.
