Nobody objects to breast feeding in public these days if the breast is covered and the mother is making some semblance of an effort to be discreet.
The issue of trashy/not trashy is the UNCOVERED breast during breastfeeding.
Personally, I'm not objecting and in fact I support it as a "neutral observer". But make no mistake, it's trashy.

As with most things, it's only trashy if you're not a hot chick. An attractive woman can get away with most any "indecent" behavior because people want to see them. People want to see a hot woman wearing scantly clad clothing or showing their bare breasts in public. It's the uggos that no one wants to have to look at.

Seriously, they make covers where a mom can comfortably feed her baby while keeping it private in public. My wife uses one.

Its trashy to just flop a titty out like that in public. They make shawls that cover the mother and the baby and that is perfectly acceptable but what that chick is doing is trashy. Some one should order a cup of coffee and walk over to her table and pull that titty out of that babies mouth and squeeze a few squirts out into their coffee.
