Seriously.

A guard would just be a luxury. Allen and Biz will likely be our 2 PGs. We have a bunch of talented 2s and 3s, we have 4s, and we have a 5 and a hybrid 4/5.

I would really like one more true 5, if we could, but this team has talent to compete.

If Allen goes pro, then I will start panicking, because he is the most important player we are recruiting at this point.

Chatter is that we are getting a guard

What chatter, and what guards have we even been connected with? im blanking rn.

I’m ok with this. I have a policy of not trashing current players while they’re on the team but Hannah just never had “it”. He seemed like a guy who was the best athlete in high school who didn’t know what to do when he could no longer out athlete everyone.

Even with Freshmen you usually see something that flashes and there just wasn’t much there. Even early on I was like “ok Allen is like a 9, Jemison is a 6.5, and Hannah is a 4” and then he lost all his minutes and figured we were headed this direction.

I think Oats' comments comparing him to Herb created unrealistic expectations too. Definitely saw the potential to be a great defensive player, but he got lost far too much, and was a black hole on offense much like Bethea was. Ball stoppers who arent the lead guard kill this offense.
hes a taller guard though, more of a hybrid. Allen staying would definitely affect his playing time to a degree.
entering the portal this late makes me think he doesnt see much playing time on the horizon. Maybe another wing made a decision to stay.
Now one from Allen and we are cooking with jet fuel.
Freeman is visiting today, or just finished his visit. I cant remember which.

This is the big time 3 we’ve been missing since Brandon left.

I think he will play the 4 most of the time. We have like 4 guys who can play the 3.

But imagine a line up of

1. Allen
2. Freeman
3. Jemison
4. Bristow
5. Garrison

Talk about positional size.

I am greedy and want a big 7 footer who can fight the Mara's of the world though.
if we get Donnie I might start getting more excited than I should be.
Allen has to be the plan at PG, and he could do it. Could you imagine his draft stock as a PG with his size? We could easily sell him on that, plus a healthy NIL, to keep him.

Theres simply too many wings if not. Especially if Hannah comes back too.
I'd argue we are more set at the 4 than the 5. We need an athletic 7 footer.

we need 6'10 at the 4, 6'8 at the 3.

I want to be able to throw out a lineup of Allen, Bowie, Jemison, Garrison, and a 7 footer, if the situation calls for it.

I have been accused of being greedy before.
I absolutely agree with you. A lot of these agents were already floating these deals before the season was over. Hell, rumors hit about Sherrell like a month ago. We knew where the market was headed, guarantee you we are going above $15million this year.
Garrison CAN hit 3s, but he really need more confidence in it. I think he could shoot 29% ish percent on decent volume, 2 or 3 a game. Which is enough to stretch the floor. Pope really didnt seem to give his guys any confidence in themselves. They all seemed to play kinda scared.
I think our budget is likely higher than we believe. It just has to be. We couldn't field a competitive team if not, and Oats wouldnt have signed that extension if he couldnt be competitive here.
Man, I dont know. I firmly believe Bidunga got closer to $5 million.

$3 million for a mid level big seems plausible to me.
Garrison COULD be a dominant big man.

Will he? ehhhhhhh. I'd love to see it, for sure. Dude has never given effort consistently though. Oats coaches a lot harder than Pope does though, maybe he can unlock Garrison time all the time.
probably paid those 2 more than half of our total NIL budget.
