Why’d they scrip the man’s funding?
It like quadrupled since he became chief and was growing more and more each year.
Think it started at $60k a year and he was asking for like $240k

I’m stuck in the area for a number of years. Once I can go, I want out and preferably not to come back for longer than a visit.
If the proposed tax changes in Mississippi happen to where income tax goes away, it would be cost neutral for me to move there in an area I already know well and is a reasonable hop from here should I need to visit.

You did and it was eye opening.
It begs the question, why are Scotty Hunter and Nakamoto not going after this administration and all of their scandals? If someone farts in Port Allen or Pointe Coupee they are all over it.

Why are the police chiefs the only ones getting heat for this? The Mayor’s office clearly knew and endorsed it.

Because their bosses won’t let them as they are all in tight circle. Look what happen to Kiran Chawla when she started questioning the uppers she was let go as soon as they could get her out the door

For shits and giggles, Kiran should start looking into Lipsey, Engquist, etc, and their part in the St George lawsuit frickery.

I’m not sure even Kiran would want to get into those weeds.
That’s relatively big money in what still amounts to a small town. People can get disappeared quickly dealing with that.

Sounds like he be witch hunt, he will not be bullied, and the council are bringing acquisitions.

Correct. She isn't touching that.

I just watched the entire council meeting. These are my takes from it:
MP did try to get rid of bad actors but civil service reversed or hamstrung him. I really do think MP tried to do his best to balance fighting crime (turning his nose up to the brave cave) while maintaining the politics of the department and Mayor
MP should not have allowed the bad cop son to work in street crimes. He signed off on it.
Gary Chambers is an attention whore.
Black people were most affected by the Brave Cave and bad police acting.
Black people were a part of the cause/continuation of the brave cave. So were white people.
Murphy Paul's kids should have been left alone.
This is not a race issue--it is an incompetence issue.
Burn it all down and start the BRPD anew. It cannot be fixed from its current form. It is a liability ten times its benefit doing police work.

Because they get their marching orders from elsewhere. Nakamoto only goes after State agencies because he's in the pocket of the EBR bigwigs.

I love how that fat frick blames the problem of the brave cave on the council and doesn’t say a word about: A.) how incompetent MP is to not know about it or B.) why did he allow it to continue

Agreed to a point.
BRPD was intentionally destroyed so it could be rebuilt.
I’d sidestep some of it by just dissolving BRPD and expanding EBRSO’s operations, with funding and staffing to match.

Didn’t the City of Baton Rouge vote for the Mayor that hires the police chief TWICE?
You get what you voted for
Not only did you vote for an incompetent Mayor, Police Chief, Governor but look who your president of the USA is

Murphy is a retard. Sorry, that’s insulting to retards.

After Baton Rouge Police Chief Murphy Paul unloaded on two council members, both have sent a letter to the mayor requesting the chief be disciplined. The letter was sent Thursday evening on Sept. 28th after the chief’s display at a council meeting the night before.
quote:
Mayor,
We were appalled by the conduct and total disregard for decorum displayed by Baton Rouge Police Chief Murphy Paul at the Metropolitan Council meeting on Wednesday afternoon. His lack of control over his emotions and unprofessional diatribe did not go unnoticed.
His words and actions are below the office he holds and a disrespect to the brave men and women of our police department. In particular, his verbal attack directed at us personally was completely absurd and crossed a number of ethical and professional lines.
Based on the Baton Rouge Police Department’s own code of conduct, and the fact that you asked Chief Murphy Paul to stand down and he did not, shows a disregard for the respect of our office as Council Members and your position as Mayor-President.
As a result of his actions, we ask for the immediate resignation or termination of Murphy Paul as Chief of Police of the Baton Rouge Police Department.
EBR Metro Council Member Aaron Moak
EBR Metro Council Member Jennifer Racca
