they cannot acknowledge terrorism, especially in the wake of terrorist attacks.
They're incapable of this, other than to say, "See? If America wasn't bad, there wouldn't be terrorists like this."
At least, that's how I see it.

Peter Quinn disagrees. Granted this is fiction, but it eerily prescient...
Peter Quinn: What strategy?Tell me what the strategy is and I'll tell you if it's working. [Silence] See, that right there is the problem because they - they have a strategy. They're gathering right now in Raqqa by the tens of thousands, hidden in the civilian population, cleaning their weapons and they know exactly why they're there.
CIA official: Why is that?
Peter Quinn: They call it the end times. What do you think the be-headings are about? The crucifixions in Deir Hafer, the revival of slavery? Do you think they make this s*** up? It's all in the book. Their f****** book. The only book they ever read - they read it all the time. They never stop. They're there for one reason and one reason only: to die for the Caliphate and usher in a world without infidels. That's their strategy and it's been that way since the seventh century. So do you really think that a few special forces teams are going to put a dent in that?
CIA official: Well what would you do?
Peter Quinn: Are you offering me a promotion?
CIA official: I'm offering you a hypothetical.
Peter Quinn: Two-hundred thousand American troops on the ground indefinitely to provide security and support for an equal number of doctors and elementary school teachers.
CIA official: Well that's not going to happen.
Peter Quinn: Then I better get back there.
CIA official: What else? What else would make a difference?
Peter Quinn: Hit reset.
CIA official: Meaning what?
Peter Quinn: Meaning pound Raqqa (ISIS’s stronghold) into a parking lot.

I doubt it. They probably don't go around announcing their plans
I disagree.. The mastermind behind the Paris attacks spent last 4 months in Brussels in plain sight living around the block from where he grew up. There was an entire community of people in that area who were sympathetic to his cause and to the radical tenants of Islam that are preached.

Jesus, some of you people are completely incapable of having rational discussion. The only point I ever wanted to make is that our process is more thorough, centralized and efficient than Europe's. I'm not an "open border folk", so you can save your bullshite rhetoric.

That's the most difficult problem the world is facing in a long time. It's like cancer. We can't just bomb the hell out of them, though it may be effective to knock them back. We have to figure out a way to destroy the ideology so that it won't spread like it has
Well, they look at the West as weak fools because we will spend the next 2 weeks talking about how those people don't represent Islam and we need to stop associating terrorism with Islam. You know what Muslims are good at besides blowing people up? Playing the PC victim card.

Not being closed minded or racist but i honestly think its time to close the door on this culture. "one bad seed has spoiled the whole batch" in my opinion.
Maybe the people who are innocent and do not think like these extremists can take matters in their own hands for once and stop being pussies.
If you want the world to think differently about that skin color then stand up and fight back against the terrorists that sport that same skin tone

I get what you're saying.
The problem is that, with the refugee crisis in Syria, there's no way for us to properly vet many people from the region due to a lack of an effective central govt.

Another issue that was mentioned on BBC news this morning is that as ISIS has taken over territories, they've been seizing the government equipment to make Visas. Now they can create real documents with whatever info they want on it.

I just know our First Lady will put something on twitter like she did after Boko Haram kidnapped 200 Nigerian schoolgirls. That'll show them!

If you mean having a whole bunch of Syrian and Iraqi immigrants overrunning our cities, we are so far from that right now that it certainly isn't "a matter of time".
I bet that's they were saying in Europe for a long time too.

Yeah, they've had this capability for several months now. You would think that a Syrian passport would be an immediate red flag, but I'm sure it's treated just like any other passport.

This is absolutely insane that we are allowing these people into our country with unfettered access and no background checks.
While there are legit concerns around bringing refugees in, they go through multiple background checks and agencies. It is actually a pretty strict system.
There are much easier ways to enter the country.

This kind of thing scares me.
I really have no fear of my plane being hijacked.
BUT, when I'm standing in the crowd to check my bags or in a crowded line waiting to pass through the TSA checkpoint...any terrorist can just walk in with a bomb strapped to their chest and no one would know until it's too late.

The Paris bomber that decided not to blow himself up, doesn't that go against everything they stand for. What a wimp. He should have been the martyr they claim to be. You know they are going to hunt you down and kill you.

It's my opinion, that with the direct bombing of ISIS areas. They have stepped up their attacks with their European cells. In a way, it's a win that we are taking out their infrastructure in the middle east. But the blowback is situations like this and the Paris attacks.
