I didn't say or imply that we should reason with crazy radicals or terrorist. Those people have to be killed or jailed.
I don't know the solution to change an ideology so widespread. It seems that you just have to prevent it from spreading. Maybe it's through education and aid to those in the regions where it is spreading the fastest? I don't know and I wish I did.

Those cell phone videos of the immediate aftermath are pretty tough to watch. You hear parents screaming for their children, children screaming for their parents. Chances are their children or parents are dead.

Their society is ingrained with values from 1500 years ago. There is no "re-education". They would consider that an all out assault on their religion and would fight to the death to prevent it. There is no middle ground. It's full capitulation or a bullet.

There are people who feel that way and will resist no matter what. I disagree with the sensibility that the majority of any demographic are likely to fall into that group. When considering the necessity of Islam's reformation we should not forget what a hard process it was for Christians.

It is *very* relevant.
To give one example, this is why the visa waiver program is a much greater problem than refugees. Do you not realize than any Belgian or French passport holder could come here without a visa or going through any refugee screening at all? Refugee screening isn't perfect but it is better than nothing. All a passport holder would have to do is clear customs.
We're lucky they chose to stay local.
