The original Gretna was in Scotland. I only learned this reading the Flashman novel Flash For Freedom, which is set partly in 1840s NO. At one point our hero says, "Our ship stopped to load cargo in a place called, I do not jest, Gretna"

Serious question…are they still building outside Lafayette? I passed by recently & nothing has been done besides initial land clearing…while the Ruston one is finally getting started
