Everything and I mean literally everything can be twisted into something racist

Steady income, reasonable debt ratio, and responsible credit history. Are those requirements racist?
In America today? Yes.

The book focuses on that event, but also springboards into current (at the time it was written) housing segregation.
You are so fricking dumb! If you think loan officers and underwriters give ANY consideration to the race of an applicant you are retarded, its only on the application because it is the law. They will do anything they can to push through as many loans as they can, its how they get paid. The bottom line is black people are just not as qualified for home ownership as white people but that has nothing to do with the color of their skin. Retard.

I knew what I was getting into here, and I'm not going to have a goofy, insulting exchange with you.
The statistics support what I'm saying. It has been proven through experimentation. If you choose to ignore that, that's on you.

Why don't you think loan officers and underwriters don't push black loans through as often as white loans? Do you think they have a different set of guidelines?

Mortgage companies don't care what color you are.
They care about one color-green.
Think about it.

What's funny is CNN is cocky enough to host this "study" and the article written and push it as legitimate.
What's even worse...people who actually vote will read this article, believe it fully then be outraged at whatever political party or race they aren't a part of.
Loan officers aren't rejecting loans based on race and banks surely aren't going to pass up money based on it either.

There is subtle discrimination in the housing market. There's no doubt about it.
It's been proven time and time again experimentally.
Kevin Boyle wrote a book that covered some of the history -- Arc of Justice: A Saga of Race, Civil Rights, and Murder in the Jazz Age -- focusing on Dr. Ossian Sweet, who moved into a white neighborhood in Detroit in the 1920s, and was subsequently attacked by hundreds of white residents for racist and economic reasons (property value).
Yeah and look at Detroit now.

CNN = race baiter. They came up with this halfassed report so sharpton could get more contributions.
It's sad that these "news" agencies don't know how to use some tool such as the fault tree analysis to get down to what the base problem(s) are .... but that would kill the narrative.

The study cited by CNN is a statistical farce. Present a study with comparing loan acceptances for black and white applicants with similar credit scores and incomes and then we can talk.

I don't remember being asked about my race the last time that I filled out a loan application, but I could be wrong. I don't answer those questions anyway, in case their is some kind of "social justice" quota. It's not relevant.

And assets.
I just settled with a 30yr fixed at 3.625 with 1.5 points toward closing. Underwriting was hell, though. I think my lender knows more about me than the government.

By law they are required to ask but a lot of loan officers don't. There is a box to check for people that don't want to answer though.

Stats also say blacks have lower credit scores and income in general. You're quite the tard.
And another interesting stat.
Poverty Rates: White 10%, Black 27%, Hispanic 24%.
Denial Rates: Whites 10.4%, Blacks 27.6%, Hispanics 21.9%
How shocking.

m a young black male and this happened to me two weeks ago.
I went to visit an nice apartment complex on a Saturday afternoon. I called the previous day and scheduled an appt. When I arrived, the lady at the front desk immediately asked me to leave. When I told her I made an appt she told me I was wrong without even checking and told me they were closed even though there was one white couple and one asian couple in the lobby waiting. As I walked out, I checked the hours I saw they were open another two hours.
What does the OT think of this incident. I didn't confront her and decided to just look elsewhere for a new apartment. I couldn't help but wonder if I would have been kicked out if a I wasn't black.
That bitch.

Zillow said that one reason is that whites tend to make more money than blacks and Hispanics do, which makes qualifying for a loan much easier. Zillow's chief economist Stan Humphries said white applicants make roughly $20,000 more per year than comparable black and Hispanic borrowers on regular mortgages.
Well, let's not put this fact too close to the sensationalist headline
