It sounds like she really lucks out next week when you leave for Asheville.
I'm actually picking her up at GSP on the way into town.
So we won't go through Boone on the way into town.

Congratulations. She probably feels the same way.

Congrats OP.
Me and my SO are working on year 37.

Threads like these are depressing. You can boil down OP to apologizing a lot and capitulating to your wife.

Sorry my friend, but could not be further from the truth. Just finally learned (before it was too late) how to love and care for my wife. And I am thankful she was patient and forgiving.

Not sure what to think about these long term marriage threads. It takes two. And luck, or denial.
Is it better to have one long-term mediocre marriage, or two marriages, each more exciting in its own way?
I thought about it, and a number is a number. If you are happy, great! If you are just collecting a bigger number, well, not great. Me, I am collecting happiness. And that takes two.
If Mrs. Wolfhound45 can provide it, grow with you, and make it go, more power to you!

Did the "thankful for all the years" part throw you off?
