Yeah, I stand corrected. I'd forgotten that two of them weren't Kardashians.
The good news is that I don't have to off myself now!

Cold blooded. The husband's divorce atty must be the best in the biz.

I'd bet that the husband's attorney claimed it was worth an ungodly amount of money and the judge believed it, so the "value" of the guitar was calculated as part of the community assets. Then, when it came time to divvy up the assets, instead of giving up cash to offset the "value" of the guitar, she called his bluff and handed over the guitar instead.
shite like that happens all the time when one party wants to extort more cash in the divorce and can pin some fake value onto an item they think the other party won't want to part with and will be willing to pay for.

Why wouldn't inherited assets be considered separate property?

I wonder how the Brinkley daughter on the left feels about getting Billy's face when the daughter on the right got Christies face.
Girl was damn unlucky in the genetics dept.

Great thread, but I'm curious about that question too.

Now that I think about it she may have offered it as payment so she could get cash. She may have preferred cash to the guitar.

Yeah, I guess you're right. It could have gone the other way, too.
Husband: I want eleventy million dollars in cash.
Francis Bean: This famous guitar is worth eleventy million dollars, you can have that instead.
Judge: Great, it's settled. Recess for lunch.
