Between them and Calvary, they have the city locked down. It is one of the reasons Alexandria can't leverage it's advantages it has to be more successful.
You have a river, a major railroad, an interstate, a major US Hwy, and high speed internet, but the only jobs they can bring in are fast food restaurants and payday loan places. All because no one wants to upset their little fiefdoms and do anything to make the city more attractive to businesses. They don't take care of the roads, parking lots or any infrastructure. Crime and homelessness is rampant with no end in sight.
Traffic is so fricked up in Alexandria, it's based off of the frontage road system and which parking lots you can cut through to get where you need to go.
Literally at the crossroads of the state but can't grow to be nothing more than what they are now.
